This is the third reduction of oil price in a row for the past few months and it immediately took over newspaper front pages.The reason I find this news fascinating is that oil price has huge impacts on the other goods such as food products or retail commodities, so almost everyone as a consumer benefits from the low oil price. It is predicted to stimulate domestic production and consumption, especially during the Lunar New Year festival. As for me, I felt a great sense of relief after receiving the news because, you know, like other Vietnamese students, I depend on a motorbike to travel to school and get around town. Before the drop, I used to spend up to 25 bucks per month on petrol for the vehicle. However, the same money can last for a month and a half now that the price has gone down. More importantly, because I'm really fond of travelling, the fact that fuel price is falling probably means that I can buy cheaper air tickets as airfares are likely to decline alongside oil prices. Although hes very young - only a year ahead of me, Minh is co-founder of our schools English Club.Actually, English is not my major at university but all of the students are required to take IELTS test as part of the graduation requirements. So I decided to join the English Club and that's how I met Minh. My first impression of this friend was that he had a good command of English and, also, he demonstrated a great passion for this language. He helped me practice making conversations in English for a while before we became close friends.The thing that most people, including myself, find attractive about Minh is that he has such a great sense of humor. I mean, he can make anyone laugh even when they dont feel like to. He has a way of making people feel cheerful and comfortable when they are around him.I definitely think Minh is a competent leader because he knows exactly how to connect with people in his network and motivate them to achieve common goals. Hes incredibly creative as well. Taking part in his English Club is many students favorite activity. Please say- What app is it?- How is it useful to you?- Will you use it in the future? Why?PhotoWonder is definitely one of my favourite mobile phone applications. Well, like other people, I love taking pictures of my friends and I having good times to post on social sites, and I want them to look nice. This is where PhotoWonder comes in handy.Basically, PhotoWonder is a photo editing and filtering app, which allows users to make changes to their pictures so that they appear a little bit more impressive than they are originally. It is full of fun features providing you with many options for special effects, filters, themes and frames. I must admit that I probably overuse this app for my photos. But it is because they look so much better after being edited. Another thing is PhotoWonder is extremely easy to use. You dont need to be a photoshop expert to make your photos look beautiful with this application.I have been a great fan of this app ever since it was introduced. What I really appreciate is people keep working on it so that it can compete with other photo editing applications. Personally, I dont see myself stop using this app any time soon. TOPIC 05What are the main reasons for traffic jams in your opinion?In my opinion , one of the main reasons why traffic congestion occurs is due to more cars on the road. The population is increasing; therefore, more people want their own personal transport to get around with. As the number of cars goes up, the chance of congestion also rises. This is coupled with a lack of proper infrastructure. Councils and national governments often fail to act on the threat of heavy congestion until it happens. - What is the main problem related to traffic jams?Heavy traffic congestion can have a tremendous impact on many aspects of life, among which air pollution has concerned me more than the others. The stopping and starting in traffic jams burns fuel at a higher rate than the smooth rate of travel on the road. This contributes to the amount of emissions released by the vehicles, which seriously deteriorates the air quality and affects the health of people who have to breathe it.TOPIC 6What sort of news do we usually read in newspapers?Well, the kind of news that interests me is show business news which gossips about celebrities personal life. I know some people would go like, You benefit nothing from this kind of news, but the thing is, I tend to read for pure entertainment and celebrity news doesnt give me headache like other kinds of news do.- What age group is interested in the news more? Why?It could be difficult to tell if certain age groups are more into reading news than the others. I mean, people in each age group tend to have their own things that they would like to keep updated in the news. But, it would be safe to say that its easier for young people to access news sources than their parents generation.- Is it necessary to get updated information? Why?I personally think that it is important to receive the latest information because no one wants to feel behind and being left out of conversations. Also, updated information gives us a more precise look at the society we are living in and allows us to adapt to new circumstances more effectively. Being in line with mainstream trends can benefit our businesses as well.- Do you think we get too much information nowadays?I do believe that these days we are overflooded with information from many sources such as TV or the internet. It may sound like a good thing to be able to access information easily but, the truth is , the more information we receive, the less time we have for other activities and, therefore, fewer things get done. Also, information can be misleading or false so, there is not much point in reading some news without being able to tell if it is reliable or not. - Do you think the way we receive news will change in the future?I certainly think it will be the case. Looking back at how people accessed information a decade ago and how it has completely changed, there is no reason to believe that in the future people will receive news in the exact same way as we do now. Like they say, change is the only thing constant in life and that change, I suppose, will be fueled by technology and humans increasing demand to save time and labor.
