Basic Information
President- Fr. Murphy Principal- Mr. Corrigan Jr. Founded in 1886 Mottos- “Men for Others”
“Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam” – For the Greater Glory of God. January 21, 1924- St. Ignatius High
School is added to the National Register of Historical Places.
The Foundation
Built on a German 6-year Gymnasium model.
1902- Separate 4-year high school and college formed.
1923- Upper division of St. Ignatius given the name John Carroll University.
1935- JCU moves to University Heights.
