Back to School TriviaWith no schools nearby, the early children of the Hollywood Riviera

were sent to South School in Redondo Beach for their first year, and then

Malaga Cove Grammar School and Redondo Union High School. It

wasnt until after WWII that the construction of housing warranted the

building of Newton (now Richardson Middle School), Parkway

(now the Riviera Beach Colony) and Riviera Grammar Schools.

Riviera Elementary School opened its doors in 1955.
