State & City of Lakes 03 UDAIPUR MONDAY, JUNE 22, 2015 Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur orga- nized a workshop on‘Tribal Livelihood’ onJune 17th 2015as a member of Manthan Consortium. Rajasthan Grameen Aajeevika Vikas Parishad (RGAVP) provided a collaborative support for mak- ing the workshop a success. The workshop objective create a learning platform where experience and knowl- edge sharing can take place with RGAVP, MANTHAN part- ners and NGOs working on livelihood issues in Udaipur was rightfully achieved. The event flagged off with a welcome note from Prof. Janat Shah – Director, IIMU who presented his views for the part that educational insti- tutes could play in the devel- oping an eco-system of liveli- hood for the marginalized . He also said that IIMU holds a great responsibility to contribute towards the research, devel- opment and strategizingthe initiatives for the income gen- eration for the tribal. He con- sidered the workshop to be an excellent platform for acade- micians, practitioners, govt. officials to work together in the direction. The event was attended by the by faculties from other man- agement institutes of the coun- try including MDI, XIMB, XLRI, TISS, and BRLF (Bihar Rural Livelihood Foundation). The institutes are also members of the Manthan consortium. Prof. Shambu Prasad from Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), Gujrat initiat- ed and moderated the dis- cussion by first briefing the audience about the Manthan (Management Academic insti- tutes Network for Transforming Human Resources through Action and Knowledge), a three year old consortium and its objectives of strengthening the livelihoods ecosystem in India. The consortium has researched and developed knowledge platform, e-groups, learning support, strategy advi- sory support through its mem- ber institutes. Workshop was further led by the Mr. Hardeep Chopra, RGAVP representative, who work for the livelihood initia- tives in various districts of Rajasthan. The initiatives have helped more than 55 lakh trib- al men and women in the state. The great cause has been promoted at large scale by cre- ating Self-help groups and Village Organizations (VOs) for women. The initiative aims to ensure income of above 1 lakh for the families that are part of SHG or VOs. Giving testimo- ny to the fact, women from trib- al areas joined the workshop to share their experience and benefit from the RGAVP ini- tiatives. RGAVP believes that the success stories would grow exponentially in future with more people joining hands using the platform of such workshops. The event acted as perfect platform for majority partici- pants. Priyanka Singh, CEO of SevaMandir also contributed to the discussion with her views on the issues prevalent in the tribal livelihood. She expressed her views on the income source majorly depending on the nat- ural resources and labor. She urged various stakeholders and participants to formulate policies that are beneficial for the poor in for a long term. The workshop was further progressed by presentations on the livelihood models from participants. The speakers shared their learnings and experiences from the initia- tives pursued and research done. The speakers included Kalpana Pant from Chaitanya Foundation, ZulfiquarHaider, CEO form BRLF, Rama Kandrappa from ILRT and Dileep Gupta from IGS, Abha Mishra from Aajeevika Bureau and Avanish Kumar from MDI. During the conclusion of the workshop, everyone appreci- ated the concept and the con- tent of the workshop. They also requested to have frequent such sessions to keep the motivation high among the participants. IIMU takes pride in hosting such event which strives to make a greater impact to the society. Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur suc- cessfully hosted the third edi- tion of its annual HR Conclave – Spandan 2015 on 20th June, 2015. Carrying forward the lega- cy from the last year’s HR Conclave, this year’s conclave was conceptualized around the central umbrella theme, “Connect" focused on delib- erating the ever evolving roles and responsibilities of the HR function. The event began with an opening address by Prof. Janat Shah – Director, IIM Udaipur. Prof. Shah talked about the conclave’s agenda of being a platform for global HR leaders to share their expertise and experiences in the ever-changing fields. Prof. Shah also laid stress on the IIMU's strong focus on Research, Analytics, and Immersion in the three forms of Rural, Corporate & Global Immersion and Entrepreneurship & Intrapreneur ship in his speech. Mr. Santosh Bhave - Senior VP – HR/IR Bharat Forge, a glob- al metal forging company gave the inaugural speech for the panel discussions. In his address, Mr. Bhave shared his knowledge on the Human resource innovation in India. He also educated the students on the importance of HR inno- vation in development of the firm. The event then proceed- ed with panel discussions on the two sub-themes for the summit: Connecting creativity with profession: Role of HR in fostering innovation in organizations Connecting to Mainstream: Role of HR as a strategic partner in businesses The event saw stalwarts from the top firms of India expressing their knowledge and views regarding transfor- mation in the industry due to innovation and HR strategy. The participating corporate leaders in the discussions were Mr. SantoshBhave - Senior VP – HR/IR Bharat Forge, Mr. HarjeetKhanduja - Vice President Human Resources Reliance Jio, Ms. Kavita Kurup- Head Learning & Organizational Development, Axis Bank, Mr. AshutoshTipnis- Head - HR (West and South) Hindustan Times, Ms. Meenaa Sharma- Chief Human Resource Officer Reliance Money. The key things highlighted in the discussions were HR facilitation program- connect- ing HR skills with innovation, importance of having a human- mind over a technological mind, Role of HR in bringing the right people, creating customer experience through driving innovation, fundamental beliefs and values of an organization, importance ofdatabase people management, significance of analytics in HR Practice area, Innovation at the grass root level, creating and delivering value, aligning theHR strate- gies with the business strate- gies to succeed in the long run, employee engagement, best industry practices, learning and organizational department, differences between people dependent and process depen- dent organizations. The event is a completely student driven initiative of IIM Udaipur which aims to bridge the gap between the corporate and academics and to give a common platform where exchange of knowledge and insights is facilitated.The panel discussion as well as the qual- ity interaction with the indus- try leaders was an enriching experience for the students of IIM Udaipur.The event was very well received by the IIMU community. The event con- cluded with the felicitation of the eminent speakers of the event and a vote of thanks. IIM Udaipur : Two Mega Events Tribal Livelihood Workshop Spandan 2015 - 3rd HR Conclave 75 patients benefitted from Joint Implant Camp Udaipur: A 2-day Joint Implant Camp was organized at JBH American Hospital from 16th to 17th June, in which 75 patients took benefits. Joint transplant patients came from the camp around the division and were registered after knowing the entire process of operation. Joint implant facilitiesat the camp were given at discounted rates. The services were provide by joint implant expert Dr Manish Agrawal of GBH American Hospital and physiotherapy expert Dr VikasNalwaya. Accused boy was identified as Kalpesh Meena (22) of Dungarpur, Meena was hav- ing an affair with the victim girl Twinkle (19) since last 1 year and also having plans of get- ting married with her, but Meena was having a doubt on the girl that she was in contact with other boys too, when he confirmed his doubt he dicid- ed to kill twinkle and for that he has made plan, on 14th June he took the victim to a lonely shed of Maharana Pratap Railway Station of the city and strangulated her to death, to confirm her death accused stabbed her neck for 5 times, leaving the dead body of the victim on the spot he fled away back to Dungarpur on his bike and hide him self at his aunty's house. Next morning he took a bus from his village and came to Udaipur at his sister's rented house situated at Sector.5 of Hiran Magri area where the investigating team of Pratap Nagar police had arrested him, said Adsp City Dr.Rajesh Bhardwaj. Adsp informed that on 15th June at around 4 pm police got the information about the victim's dead body lying at the shed of Railway Station, immedialtly a team of Police station including Station House Officer Chandra Purohit and his men Jagdish Prasad, Vikram Singh, Umaid Singh, Nahar Singh, Khuman and Pramod rushed to the scene, the dead body was shifted to the mortuary where the bag found near it was taken in cus- tody, police has found some books, cusmetic items and a mobile bill on which the name of the accused was written, but one thing which made the sit- uation complex was that no mobile phone was found from the crime scene, neither it was a case of loot as the gold chain of the victim was found as it is in her neck nor she was sex- ually assaulted, police has started the investigation of the matter considering it a case of problems in relations or she was killed by some body known to her. The victum was identified as Twinkle with the help of her books and later her grand father was informed about the mishap. Victim's grand father Ganga ram staying at Kanpur village of the Distrcit informed the police that Twinkle was staying with him at his house and was 1st year student of nursing at Synergy Institute of Nursing, she went to her house at Dungarpur 7 days back after the examination, Station House Officer Chandra Purohit informed. When the parents of the deceased girl were con- tacted they informed the police that thier daughter has left the house for Udaipur on 14th June in afternoon at 12 o'clock since then they were not in con- tact with her, but she havnt reached Udaipur and suddenly they got the information of her death on Monday. The accused when inter- rogated has revealed that he came contact with the Twinkle a year back in July during his stay at his elder sister's house at Dungarpur that is situated near her house, after few months they had an affair and the couple decided to married to each other, their parents has also given them permission for the same, few months later Twinkle came to Udaipur for her studies and Kalpesh went to Sikar to do B.Ed from Arya College. But Kalpesh always had a doubt on his partner for being in touch with other boys and he was not happy with that, he started spying on Twinkle many ways, later when he con- firmed his doubt he decides to end the life of Twinkle as he was in love with her and can not see her staying in touch with any other boy except him, he made a plan to end Twinkle's life and for that he had purchased a knife, on 14th June Sunday when she was coming to Udaipur accused boy was at is village and asked Twinkle to ride along with him on his bike as he was also coming o Udaipur for some work, the couple headed towards Udaipur and after reaching at Tokkar Choraha near Madri Railway track he took him to the alone shed of the Mahana Pratap Railway Station and killed her. The accused was booked under the charge of murder and interogation is still on , where as the postmortem of the dead body was conduct- ed on Tuesday morning and his dead was handed over to her parents. executive committee meeting was held in a hotel yesterday,

in which some new executive were also included. Association

President Roshanlal Jain meeting when CSR project has been

discussed intensively. New executive members for election

and last year when the financial accounts were also discussed.

Monday two boys of Udaipur

were arrested by the police

under the charge of Chain

Snatching, both were produced

in court and remanded in police

custody remand for a day.

Accused were identified as

Chirag Nalvaya a graduate

boy of Mahaveer colony of

Ashok Nagar and the only son

of his parents and his aid

Anubhav Parashar of Subhash

were arrested by the police for

snatching a gold chain of 28

grams from a 80 year old

Graduate boys arrested for chain snatching

cracking a murder mystry of a

teen aged girl has arrested her

own boy friend on Tuesday for

killing her over having problems

in relation.

Accused boy was identified

as Kalpesh Meena (22) of

Dungarpur, Meena was hav-

ing an affair with the victim girl

Twinkle (19) since last 1 year

and also having plans of get-

ting married with her, but

Meena was having a doubt on

the girl that she was in contact

with other boys too, when he

confirmed his doubt he dicid-

ed to kill twinkle and for that

he has made plan, on 14th June

he took the victim to a lonely

shed of Maharana Pratap

Railway Station of the city and

strangulated her to death, to

confirm her death accused

stabbed her neck for 5 times,

leaving the dead body of the

victim on the spot he fled away

back to Dungarpur on his bike

and hide him self at his aunty's

house.

Next morning he took a bus

from his village and came to

Udaipur at his sister's rented

house situated at Sector.5 of

Hiran Magri area where the

investigating team of Pratap

Nagar police had arrested him,

said Adsp City Dr.Rajesh

on 15th June at around 4 pm

police got the information about

the victim's dead body lying at

the shed of Railway Station,

immedialtly a team of Police

station including Station House

Officer Chandra Purohit and

his men Jagdish Prasad,

Vikram Singh, Umaid Singh,

Nahar Singh, Khuman and

Pramod rushed to the scene,

the dead body was shifted to

the mortuary where the bag

found near it was taken in cus-

tody, police has found some

books, cusmetic items and a

mobile bill on which the name

of the accused was written, but

one thing which made the sit-

uation complex was that no

mobile phone was found from

the crime scene, neither it was

a case of loot as the gold chain

of the victim was found as it is

in her neck nor she was sex-

ually assaulted, police has

started the investigation of the

matter considering it a case of

problems in relations or she

was killed by some body known

to her.

The victum was identified

as Twinkle with the help of her

books and later her grand

father was informed about the

mishap. Victim's grand father

nursing at Synergy Institute of

Nursing, she went to her house

tacted they informed the police

that thier daughter has left the

house for Udaipur on 14th

June in afternoon at 12 o'clock

since then they were not in con-

tact with her, but she havnt

reached Udaipur and suddenly

they got the information of her

death on Monday.

The accused when inter-

rogated has revealed that he

came contact with the Twinkle

a year back in July during his

stay at his elder sister's house

at Dungarpur that is situated

near her house, after few

months they had an affair and

the couple decided to married

to each other, their parents has

also given them permission for

the same, few months later

Twinkle came to Udaipur for

her studies and Kalpesh went

to Sikar to do B.Ed from Arya

College.

But Kalpesh always had a

doubt on his partner for being

in touch with other boys and

he was not happy with that,

he started spying on Twinkle

many ways, later when he con-

firmed his doubt he decides

to end the life of Twinkle as

he was in love with her and

can not see her staying in

touch with any other boy

except him, he made a plan

to end Twinkle's life and for

that he had purchased a knife,

on 14th June Sunday when

she was coming to Udaipur

accused boy was at is village

and asked Twinkle to ride

along with him on his bike as

he was also coming o Udaipur

for some work, the couple

headed towards Udaipur and

after reaching at Tokkar

track he took him to the alone

shed of the Mahana Pratap

Railway Station and killed her.

The accused was booked

under the charge of murder

and interogation is still on ,

where as the postmortem of

the dead body was conduct-

ed on Tuesday morning and

his dead was handed over to

her parents.
