Dear Friends,

I have been a witness to the meteoric rise of the IISSM as a truly professional training institution over more than quarter of a century. Looking back I feel it started big because in a couple of years it attracted notice of countries far and close whose participation was both impressive and challenging. It is this foreign participation and appreciation which culminated in its name and style being changed from Indian to International Institute of Security and Safety Management.

IISSM is a unique training giant in India which over the years has conducted the widest range of training and certication programs for Indian and foreign professionals. Its sustained efforts are slowly succeeding in securing for the security and safety its rightful place in the scheme of industrial and commercial management.

I wish the IISSM glorious success in its training and education endeavors.

My Dear IISSM Members and stakeholders,

I welcome all the delegates and stakeholders to this year's Global Conclave being held in New Delhi.

Nothing is secured in this world. Security and Safety are paramount to peace and prosperity. In August last, super typhoon 'Harvey' brought havoc to Texas inicting casualties and destroying properties running into billions of dollars. A chemical factory would have exploded but it was saved by timely intervention of engineers. The message is, no matter how developed and advanced a nation is, we have to be prepared to face challenge to safeguard our lives and properties.

Friends, the subject of this year's Global Conclave is “SECURITY, SAFETY, FIRE AND LOSS PREVENTION IN A DIGITISED BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT”

The concept of security and safety has gone beyond manual protection to factories, industries, monuments, public places and protection to individuals though manual guarding of a thing or a person remains the basics of providing security.

We have to move with advancing technology in this era of digitization. Be it business or industry the security and safety should be backed by digital technology. The banking sector is vulnerable to fraudulent transaction, hacking of accounts of internet banking and cloning of debit and credit cards. Though we have taken safeguards against it, a lot more need to be done in this eld.

For a secured business environment, electronic gadgets, digitized measures should have matching support of human skills and expertise. Drones are useful in keeping vigil over a premise from above. CCTV cameras are in use today. But there is and there will be no substitute for human intelligence in making this world more secured and safe in face of any challenge, natural or manmade. I am condent of making further headway in the eld of security and safety by giving new and innovative ideas and concepts to the world at this conclave being attended by distinguished persons in the eld of security and safety.

IISSM Security & Safety Excellence Awards 2017:IISSM Security & Safety Excellence Awards in its 27th year will award and recognize exemplary work, initiatives, exceptional examples & achievements in security, safety and loss prevention by organizations and individuals across India and overseas. IISSM Awards 2017 will be presented to only the most outstanding achievements in security, loss prevention and reducing of incidents and accidents at workplaces.

Objectives:The purpose of IISSM Awards is to recognize achievements and promote improvements in Security, Protection Services, Loss Prevention, Fire Safety and Workplace safety across the spectrum of security and safety management, professionals, consultants, employers, employees and all stakeholders.
