Large cauldrons were filled with rice, meat, vegetables and spices and sealed to make a simple, one- dish meal that was available to workers day and night. One day, the Nawab caught a whiff of the aromas emanating from the cauldron and the royal kitchen was ordered to serve the dish.

Beauty, brains and the buzzer
THERE ARE moments when even suave and confident quiz masters meet their match. As at the Museum Theatre when a glamorous young participant did things her own way. 'What a stunner', you thought as the maroon silk saree clad woman walked to the participant's chair. The beauty with brains was a shade too preoccupied with her looks however. Tossing her lovely mane from time to time, flashing a cheerful smile at the audience, basking in the attention, she was definitely different from the usual __(X)__ in-the-making.
When she dashed off to the steps at the side to the make-up man, the illusion of being at a feature film shoot began to envelop the viewer. After the powder compact and lipstick routine, she picked up a bottle of lip salve. A quick application but it was not quick enough. The bell rang and the actress looked around hurriedly for a suitable spot to place the bottle. After a minute or two, she got up and placed it triumphantly on the corner of the quiz master's polished, antique table.
__(Y)__ could do little but stare at it, disapproval cloaked by a half-smile. The smile came to his aid once more when after the first event and before the retake, she turned to him anxiously and asked "Does my hair look okay?". His presence of mind enabled him to give a suitable light-hearted retort.
Quiz masters sure need to have their wits about them whether confronted with the brainy or the beauty with brains like ___(Z)___.
