My heart needs (found) a surgeon My soul needs (found) a friend So I'll run to the Father Again and again And again and again Interlude Oh oh oh Verse 2 You saw my condition Had a plan from the start Your Son for redemption The price for my heart I don't have a context For that kind of love I don't understand I can't comprehend All I know is I need You Interlude Oh oh Again and again And again and again Oh oh oh (Again and again) Bridge My heart has been in Your sights Long before my first breath Running into Your arms Is running to life from death I know this truth deep in my chest Your mercy is calling out Just as I am You pull me in And I know I need You now How Deep The Father's Love For Us Verse 1 How deep the Father's love for us How vast beyond all measure That He should give His only Son To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss The Father turns His face away As wounds which mar the Chosen One Bring many sons to glory Verse 2 Behold the Man upon a cross My sin upon His shoulders Ashamed I hear my mocking voice Call out among the scoffers It was my sin that held Him there Until it was accomplished His dying breath has brought me life I know that it is finished Verse 3 I will not boast in anything No gifts no pow’r no wisdom But I will boast in Jesus Christ His death and resurrection Why should I gain from His reward I cannot give an answer But this I know with all my heart His wounds have paid my ransom Why should I gain from His reward I cannot give an answer But this I know with all my heart His wounds have paid my ransom How Great Thou Art Verse 1 O Lord my God When I in awesome wonder Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made I see the stars I hear the rolling thunder Thy pow'r thru'out The universe displayed Chorus Then sings my soul

My Savior God to Thee How great Thou art How great Thou art Then sings my soul My Savior God to Thee How great Thou art How great Thou art Verse 2 When through the woods And forest glades I wander And hear the birds Sing sweetly in the trees When I look down From lofty mountain grandeur And hear the brook And feel the gentle breeze Verse 3 And when I think That God His Son not sparing Sent Him to die I scarce can take it in That on the cross My burden gladly bearing He bled and died To take away my sin Verse 4 When Christ shall come With shout of acclamation And take me home What joy shall fill my heart Then I shall bow In humble adoration And there proclaim My God how great Thou art

Dealing with Discouragement (2:1–9)

We can get discouraged . . .

1) when we focus on sins from the past.

2) when we’re waiting for the fruit of repentance.

3) when we compare a joyful past with a painful present.

4) when we’re plowing and sowing without reaping.

5) when our work for God seems insignificant.

6) when we measure God’s work by what we can see.

7) when we feel weak, afraid, or alone.

8) when we have no vision of God’s future.

Haggai 1:15b–2:3

1:15 In the second year of Darius the king, 2:1 in the

seventh month, on the twenty-first day of the month, the word of the LORD came by the hand of Haggai the

prophet: 2 “Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of

Jehozadak, the high priest, and to all the remnant of

the people, and say, 3 ‘Who is left among you who saw this house in its former glory? How do you see it now? Is

it not as nothing in your eyes?’”

4 “Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, declares the LORD.

Be strong, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land, declares the

LORD. Work, for I am with you, declares the LORD of hosts, 5 according to the covenant that I made with

you when you came out of Egypt. My Spirit remains in

your midst. Fear not.”

Haggai 2:6–9

6 “For thus says the LORD of hosts: Yet once more, in a

little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land. 7 And I will shake all nations,

so that the treasures of all nations shall come in, and I will fill this house with glory, says the LORD of hosts. 8 The

silver is mine, and the gold is mine, declares the LORD of

hosts. 9 The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, says the LORD of hosts. And in this

place I will give peace, declares the LORD of hosts.’”

2 Kings 6:15–17: 15 When the servant of the man of God got

up early and went out, he discovered an army with horses and chariots surrounding the city. So he asked Elisha, “Oh,

my master, what are we to do?” 16 Elisha said, “Don’t be afraid, for those who are with us outnumber those who are with them.” 17 Then Elisha prayed, “LORD, please open his

eyes and let him see.” So the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he saw that the mountain was covered with

horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Hebrews 12:26–28

26 His voice shook the earth at that time, but now he

has promised, “YET ONCE MORE I WILL SHAKE NOT ONLY THE

EARTH BUT ALSO THE HEAVENS.” 27 This expression, “YET ONCE

MORE,” indicates the removal of what can be shaken—

that is, created things—so that what is not shaken might remain. 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a

kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful.
