This reminds me, and probably will remind us all, of the Thanksgiving holiday that occurs in the United States in November each year. The US Thanksgiving holiday is to remember how the pilgrim fathers who journeyed on the Mayflower, from England to the New World, were thankful to God for preserving them through their first winter and year in their new land. They were very mindful of God’s providence in all things. They were very aware that God is sovereign, that He is our loving creator and sustainer of life. It was natural for them to acknowledge God and to give Him thanks and praise. It is indeed a holy day (whence holiday), because it was a day set aside to worship the Lord of the Universe. As we approach our Thanksgiving Week and assembly, I think it is important for us to remember how many blessings we have at ICS, and most particularly, at the Tongarra Campus. The scriptures urge us to “come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.” Psalm 95:2 (NIV) and to always recognise that in our prosperity, in our blessedness, that God is at the centre of this goodness. Without his continual love, care and deep involvement in His creation all goodness would disappear. So oſten we take for granted our many blessings in this nation and we fail to acknowledge God. May we acknowledge God in all our thoughts, our words, our actions, our hopes and our dreams. Let us give Him the rightful due praise He deserves for the wonderful land in which we live, for the freedom we have and the prosperity we enjoy. Let us also acknowledge that He is always with us, even in our times of sorrow and pain. A message from Mr Horsley

At the end of Week 5 at the Tongarra Campus, we are having a Thanksgiving assembly as part of our Thanksgiving Week celebrations.

So often we take for granted our many blessings in this nation and we fail to acknowledge God.
