Foy Ministries is to teach you how to make
your dreams bigger than your memories
and fulfill God’s assignment on your life.
And this magazine is part of that purpose.
I’m amazed at all God has done in and through this
ministry to reach people and touch hearts all around the
world. In this issue, I want you to get a sense of what
God is doing and where He is calling us to go so we can
make an even greater impact—together.

have in common? We all love mascara, you say? Yes! But besides that, we all have morning rituals.

The most successful people in the world have specific habits and rituals that have led them to success. In my life, my
morning routine and daily disciplines have led me to where I am today. When people ask me, “How did your life change so drastically?” I say, “I changed my routine and it changed my life.” Several weeks ago, I asked our social media audience what they wanted to learn about most, and the overwhelming response was on the topic of “How to Plan Your Day.” The truth is, if you will plan your day wisely, you can change your whole life. As John Maxwell says, “If you want to see change in your life, change something you do daily.” I’ve studied a variety of successful corporate leaders such as Bill Gates (Microsoft), Howard Schultz (Starbucks), Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Jack Dorsey (Twitter), and many others who all have a common thread: they
credit their positivity to their morning routine. Can your morning routine really change your life? Are there certain habits that successful people have in common? The answers are yes and yes, and if you will apply these habits, your life could change as drastically as mine has! The most successful high achievers have something in common: they practice Mind Over Mattress! What does that mean? They cherish the morning hours to invest in themselves. From political leaders to ministers, to famous athletes, CEOs, and celebrities, they have morning routines that lead them to their dreams. You’ve heard the phrase, “The early bird gets the word.” Personally, I don’t care for worms so I like to say, “Those awake take the cake!” Benjamin Franklin said, “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.” More than 200 years later, early risers are still among

the most successful people. They take control of their day first thing in the morning. Does your current morning routine support you? Does it help you get closer to your dreams and goals? Or do you wake up frantic, rushing, trying to cram in everything and fly out the door? This is why your mornings are the greatest time to establish a success routine:
•It’s when you have the most control over your day.•Your morning sets the tone for the rest of your day.•Willpower is at its highest in the morning.•The longer the day goes on, generally, you become more fatigued.•You start the day feeling productive and accomplished.
What separates the successful from the unsuccessful? Habits! Someone said, “Good habits are hard to form but easy to live with. Bad habits are easy to form but hard to live with.” The problem with being habitual is the habits you currently have are only good enough to get you what you’ve currently got! If you don’t change the habit, then you will go right back to where you were. Fad diets have proven this point over and over again. In order to go higher, achieve greater, earn more, you will have to create new habits. You might be thinking, I don’t have time to add anything to my schedule! Let me ask you, do you think you could be wasting valuable time? Do you know that American’s spend an average of 3.2 hours per day on social media sites?! Not to mention the hours of television watched and time spent with our nose in our smart phones! What more
could we accomplish by eliminating only one hour every day from social media, television and unnecessary phone time? Recently, I was tagged in an Instagram post by a woman who said she started riding her exercise bike for 20 minutes a day, and after creating that habit, she lost 30 pounds! Instead of looking at the time you don’t have, take a look at the time you do have. Highly successful people are proactive about their day. They invest in themselves before they invest in everyone else. Warren Buffet said, “The best investment you’ll ever make is in yourself. It pays 1000 to 1.” Even flying in an airplane will teach you to always make sure your oxygen mask is on first. When you are taken care of first, then you can take care of others…and do it well. Zig Ziglar encouraged goal-oriented people to replace the term “alarm clock” (which is negative) with the word “opportunity clock” (which is positive).
Immediately, when the “opportunity clock” goes off, your mind is headed in a positive direction about what the day will bring! I want you to begin looking at each day as an opportunity to “become more!” Making the commitment to incorporate life-building morning habits such as exercise, reading, learning, and working on your most important tasks first, will position you for promotion. Would it surprise you to know that one of the top five morning habits of the most successful people of all different walks of life and types of beliefs is they meditate (or pray)? If Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah find it important, then how much more should we, as Christians, make it a priority to spend time in prayer? As a believer, starting your day in prayer is the most important thing you could ever do for yourself. It sets the tone and direction for your day. You can have

devotionals, go to church, listen to messages, but nothing takes the place of quality time with God. This is where you listen for that still, small voice. This is where you envision your future. This is where you clear your mind, relax, and embrace this calm moment to be with the Lord. The Bible says in Psalm 91:1 (AMPC), “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable.” Do you feel unstable, insecure, confused, unsure or lacking wisdom about a situation? Your answer is found in the presence of God. I love teaching on the top morning habits of successful people because I’ve seen what they continue to produce in my life. Each one is vitally important, but starting your day with God is the most important of them all. Hebrews 11:6 tells us that God “is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” To be diligent means to be persistent in doing something.
That means it’s not up for debate. Seeking God every day is a part of my routine, just as much as brushing my teeth or washing my face. I don’t ask myself if I feel like it; I just do it! If I could challenge you to start with one discipline, it would be to wake up an extra 20 minutes early to be alone with God. This is how you gain stability, direction, vision, answers, security, and intimacy with God. Jim Rohn was known for making the statement, “If you want more, you must become more. If you don’t like the size of your money, increase the size of you. Your money will only grow to the extent that YOU grow.” Well, you could replace that word money with the following:

Your business will only grow to the extent that you grow.
Your church will only grow to the extent that you grow.
Your career will only grow to the extent that you grow.
Your relationships will only grow to the extent that you grow.
Too many people think of growing as a period of life rather than a way of life. Successful people never put a cap on how much they can grow. I want to challenge you to incorporate some new morning growth habits in your life that will lead you to the success God has for you. No, it’s not easy. It’s not comfortable. It’s not convenient. But
I can tell you from experience that it’s worth it. The Bible says, “To whom much is given much is required.” You’ve asked the Lord for some big dreams and big opportunities. It will require some big commitments from you. The great news is: YOU can do it! Remember the most important thing you can do every day is spending time alone in prayer with your Heavenly Father. The vision, direction, and love you need is found there. R

I had the privilege of hearing you speak for our women’s conference. I’m 62 years old and
though I had a most wonderful and loving childhood with incredible parents, dreaming
was never encouraged. To be honest, I had basically given up on myself, for years! And after
Friday morning I almost didn’t come back to conference for the rest of the sessions. I couldn’t
see any possibility or hope for myself anymore. It had been too long and too disappointing.
I felt like I was nothing but a failure at anything I had ever done or attempted to do. Instead
of feeling encouraged, I was even more upset after Friday morning. I felt like even more of a
failure. I was fed up. I’d had enough. I was that angry. But I did come back, and I felt a little
spark that I knew was Holy Spirit. At 62 years old I felt like my life was over and would never
amount to anything. When you closed the conference on Saturday, I took a baby step I had
NEVER done before. I bought one of your vision board kits! Holy Spirit has brought a few
things to my mind to put on the board. I will be working on my vision board and will hang it
in my bedroom over my make-up table where I’ll see it every day. I’m not too old and there is
still life in me, life I want to live for God, through God and with God. Thank you for telling

I n 2002, I made a decision that would change the direction of my life. That single action, written on a sticky note, that transformed
my destiny was: “push play.” I didn’t know it at the time, but that simple act of listening to faith-building teachings would improve my self-esteem, draw me closer to God, deposit a desire to pursue my dreams, and ultimately, lead me to help so many others achieve their dreams. As I reflect on what God has done and is doing through this ministry, I believe there is an acceleration taking place. New doors of opportunity to reach millions of people, provision for the vision, additional staff and office space. . . things are happening fast! And this isn’t just for us, it applies to our partners as well. Through ministry materials, our podcast, or speaking to crowds around the world, I’m always telling people to dream big. I determined years
ago to never settle and to keep practicing that command in my life too. After years of knowing this day would come, the Lord has instructed me to launch our very own television broadcast! I have to admit that I sorta put the dream and call of reaching people through TV on the shelf when the Lord directed us to move our headquarters almost two years ago. I thought: It’s so expensive. We don’t have all the personnel. We aren’t ready. But recently, the CEO of a company that buys airtime for some very large ministries asked to meet with me. He found our video podcast and watched episodes for three hours non-stop. He was directed by the Lord to come to our offices for no other reason than to say, “You have a special anointing for this and need to plan to go on TV!” After he left, my executive team and I sat in our planning room and said, “God is in the middle of

this!” Sure it makes me uncomfortable, it makes me nervous, it scares me a little bit, but I know, it’s time to go for it. When I think about the privilege it is to speak into so many lives, it’s very humbling. It’s a great honor to cheer others on and provide practical, biblical tools so they can achieve dreams, goals, and ultimately God’s assignment. The Lord told me very clearly just a couple months ago that things will happen with extreme speed. We don’t have time to waste. We must be ready for fast growth. Since He told me that, we’ve seen our podcast views increase by 300%, website visits increase over 200% and new people connecting with us increase 350%! I’m reminded of Amos 9:13 (MSG): “Things will happen so fast, your head will swim!”
Any time God has given me vision or a dream,
my first step is to give. I don’t purchase cameras, air time, or hire new team members. I give. So, after praying about it, I told my CEO that I wanted to give the largest seed we’ve ever sown. Why? Because we need the largest harvest we’ve ever known. On January 1, 2016, we gave the best and most significant seed we’ve ever given based on four things I want the Lord to know:
How serious we are about this dream.How dependent we are on Him to accomplish our dreams.How much He can trust us with finances.How we’ll always honor Him by giving back to those who’ve taught us the most.
Our goal is to raise $1 million dollars to support this new television outreach. This will provide for the equipment, studio, personnel, and airtime.

My confidence comes from knowing that this is God’s vision. Together we can do it. I want to move quickly and have everything ready to launch by the end of this year. That’s fast, I know, but there’s an urgency in my spirit to reach people. Look at this gripping story Mary sent us:Terri, I lost my job earlier this year and I fell into a sort of depression. I felt even if I get another job, life will be just more of the same. I lay on the sofa each day barely able to move even to meet my basic needs. While searching for encouragement, I found you. W hat does it take to go after your
dreams? What does it require to
pursue your purpose, achieve your
goals and fulfill your destiny? For me, it’s summed
up in the little acronym: D.R.I.V.E.
DECISIONWe all have to come to that place in life where
we realize there’s only one person responsible for
the outcome of your life: you! Do you want to be
successful? Do you want to do great things with
your life? Do you want to come to the end of your
life and have a list of regrets? Or do you want say,
“Lord, I did everything you called me to do” when
you stand before Him?
You have to take 100% responsibility for
everything in your life: your relationship with
God, your relationships with your loved ones, your
achievements, your mistakes, your wealth, your
health, your debt, your body, your success.
Make no mistake, your decisions affect your
destiny! I came to a turning point in my life years
ago and started making “destiny decisions” instead
of just “seeing what the day will bring.” It’s amazing
how certain emotions, such as disgust, can lead to
a life change. We usually don’t equate the word
‘disgust’ with positive action, but being disgusted
with your current circumstances can actually serve
as vision and momentum to get out!
Seeing a photo of yourself overweight can cause
you to say “I’ve had it!” Realizing you’ve gone
another year without change or progress can cause
you to say “enough is enough!” Your credit card
declined at the restaurant can cause you to say
“I’m turning my life around!” Disgust is a place
you reach when you’re tired of being embarrassed,
ashamed, humiliated with where you are―especially
when you realize that God has so much more for
you!

ROUTINEPeople are rewarded in public for what they practice
in private. You’ve probably heard the phrase
“Champions don’t become champions in the ring,
they are merely recognized there.” This is the result
of having a successful routine day in and day out.
My life changed when I changed my daily routine.
It really is that simple. The way you treat each 24-
hour period has more to do with where you go
in life than most people understand. Successful
people have successful habits.
You will achieve your God-given dreams and
reach your goals when you develop a few habits
that you stick with every day such as: prayer time
(even if its five minutes a day), listening to a faith-
building message (during your commute to work),
exercise (perhaps 20 minutes a day on your lunch
break).
The secret of your future is hidden in your daily
routine.
INVESTMENTThe Bible says in Luke 12:48 (NKJV), “to whom
much is given, from him much will be required.”
You could also read it this way, “Much is required
in order for much to be given.”
Napoleon Hill said, “The person who stops
studying merely because they have finished school
is forever hopelessly doomed to mediocrity, no
matter what their calling.” The Bible says, “Study
to show yourself approved” (2 Timothy 2:15,
MEV).
I think one of the dumbest things I ever said when
I graduated from Texas Tech University was, “I
will never study again!” I thought I had done all I
needed to do to get a job and just enjoy the fruit
of my “labor.” Ha! Well, there wasn’t much fruit
happening in my life after graduation and years
after, until I understood that “if you want more,
you must become more.”

in their field, related to their purpose. What did I
do? I started working harder on myself than on my
job. I invested in resources. I seized (and still do)
every moment in the car to grow, learn, educate
myself.
VISIONHave you ever known a person who didn’t have
a clue what they wanted in life but was highly
successful? Neither have I! Vision is what takes you
from where you are to where you want to be. In
other words, you have to see something before you
can have something. Where do you see it? In your
imagination.
God is the one who instructed us to write our
vision and keep it before our eyes. Why? Because we
move towards what we consistently see. You need
to keep something in front of you that reminds
you of your dream. What are you looking at each
day? Reality, a pile of bills, an overweight body,
lingering debt, a family falling apart, nothing? You
have to surround yourself with “what can be” not
just “what is.” That’s vision.
You’ve got to enlarge your vision. Keep something
big in front of your eyes. No one has ever had a
dream that was too big for God. However, if you
keep saying, “Terri, I can’t imagine that!” Then
you will never have it.
Second Corinthians 4:18 (NKJV) says “what is
seen is temporary.” That word temporary means
those things you see are subject to change. Anything
that does not line up with the vision you see in
your heart is subject to change!
•Your company may be struggling—it’s subject
to change
•Your marriage may be on the brink of a divorce—
it’s subject to change
•Your health may be at risk—it’s subject to change
•Your child may not be serving God—it’s subject
to change

•Your dreams may look hopeless—it’s subject to
change!
Abraham had to do this. When he lost everything he
had worked for and his nephew, Lot, chose the best
part of the land, I’m sure he was very discouraged.
God told him in Genesis 12:13-14 (NKJV), “Lift
your eyes now and look from the place where you
are…for all the land which you see I give to you.”
Whatever is going on, don’t hold your head down,
discouraged and depressed. Look up, get a vision
of where you want to go.
And finally, what will it take to pursue your
dreams?
EVERYTHING When you’ve done all to stand, stand! Never give
up! Napoleon Hill said, “More than 500 of the
most successful people America has ever known
said their success came just one step beyond the
point at which defeat had overtaken them. Failure
takes great delight in tripping one up when success
is almost within reach.”
Galatians 6:9 (KJV) says, “Do not become weary
in well doing for in due season, you shall reap if
you faint not.” Wouldn’t it be sad to get to heaven
and see what all you could have been, what all you
could have done, and what all you could have had,
but you let a few setbacks stop you?
I pray that you develop the D.R.I.V.E. you need to
fulfill your God-given purpose.
