Take it easy is a song by the American singer-songwriter Jackson Browne.
It is taken from Browne’s second album, “For everyman” (1973), but he wrote it one year earlier; the Eagles were the first to record this song (in their first album, in 1972) and to perform it live.
Jackson Browne wrote the music and most of the lyrics. Eagles’ Glenn Frey completed the lyrics, writing part of the second and the whole third verse.
The Eagles made this song famous.
Clyde Jackson Browne (born October 9, 1948) is a singer-songwriter and musician who has sold over 18 million albums in the United States. Coming to prominence in the 1970s, Browne has written and recorded many beautiful songs. In 2004, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Abbey San Encino was built by Jackson Browne’s grandfather. It is a true architectural wonder and was declared Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument on November 15, 1972.
Browne was born in Heidelberg (Germany), where his father, Clyde Jack Browne, an American serviceman, was stationed for his job assignment with the Stars and Stripes newspaper. Browne's mother, Beatrice Amanda, was a Minnesota native of Norwegian ancestry. Browne moved to the Highland Park district of Los Angeles, at the age of three, to his grandfather's house, Abbey San Encino (you can see this house on the cover of For Everyman).
