Advantages of sourcing images this way:• A reliable physical copy that doesn’t require an internet connection.• Once you’ve purchased a book, you can have it forever and the images

that you have are freely available to you.

Disadvantages of sourcing images this way:• Not available online and so has to be scanned in by a printer for

sourcing.• If you can’t find what you’re looking for in a specific book then you’ll

have to use another way to get images or buy a different book.

Advantages of different resolutions:Low and high resolution images both have their advantages and disadvantages. An advantage of low resolution images is they have a smaller image size and are good for using in PowerPoints to keep the image size down and potentially send over email. An advantage of high solution images is that they are more aesthetically pleasing and retain the original image quality.

Disadvantages of different resolutions:A disadvantage of low resolution images is that they do not retain the original image quality and so can appear pixelated. A disadvantage of high resolution images is that they can have a much larger file size and so more demanding when uploading/downloading or sending via the internet.

Explain the changes you made to the image and explain why you made those changes:I completely changed the image. I used a technique called multiple exposure to overlay an image on top of the other. I made this change to make the image unique and diverse, and more visually interesting. In Photoshop, I used multiple filters to edit the image and balance it correctly so the image was optimal. The smart filters I used are levels, curves, brightness/contrast, exposure and vibrance. I used these to balance the white and blacks in the image and make sure it was as clear as it could be. It was difficult as in one of the images, the background is completely black and in the other completely white, so finding a middle ground proved challenging.
