Our Story

Wiko is a brand created at Bartex, a

family-owned company with long

standing traditions in sewing services. It

all begun about 30 years ago, in a small

studio apartment with a single sewing

machine and a big dream. Over three

decades later, the company has grown

immensely, and the dreams have grown

with it.

The inspiration for developing our brand

was our beloved German shepherd,

Wiko. He was a demanding tester of all

of our original designs for pet beds. In

our constant pursuit of perfection we are

always striving to develop higher quality

and greater elegance in our designs and

more enjoyment for your pet. Our entire

team shares our passion and love of

pets.

Our pet beds are hand crafted in many

designs to suit the most finicky of pets

and to match any home decor. Built to

Modern Sofa

What makes for a Modern Sofa?

When you first touch the Modern Sofa, you will want to run your fingers all over the soft

luxurious cover. It feels like the comfortable pallet you would use to take a nap. The

short pile finish invites your pet to stretch out, curl up, or lay in any favorite position to

begin enjoying the soothing feeling of the special fabric we use.

The cover has a piping that is a made of a matching vegan leather. The sheen of the

piping gives the bed a styling that is very pleasing to the eye. With this styling and feel,

you may want to trade your own couch for a Modern Sofa.

The thick cushy pillow is made of the same luxurious upholstery material that breathes to

keep your pet cool and comfortable. Our fabric is made to specifications that are far

beyond what other manufacturers produce. Does your furbaby scratch the floor before

laying down? It won’t matter with the Modern Sofa as they won’t harm this cover.

The filling is our special blend of shredded foams. We pay special attention to the details

that make the Modern Sofa a most comfortable and restful place for your pet.

The Bobbi

The Bobbi is our most durable pet bed. It is made to last and will not lose shape even

after multiple washings. The Bobbi is an amazing combination of two of our unique

fabrics. The exterior has the feel of a short nap towel; the kind you like to wrap

around you after a shower or bath.

The interior will remind you of the most comfortable blanket you have ever snuggled

up with. Your pet will feel the same way. It will be sweet dreams for them. What

makes The Bobbi so comfortable is our unique use of silicone balls which are much

lighter and comfortable than traditional foams.

own bed. Two foams make for a rest that is twice as fulfilling.

vegan leather that is easily removed for cleaning by way of a hidden zipper. Our vegan

leather is smooth to the touch yet is a heavy duty fabric with excellent resistance to

Wiko starts by inviting veterinarians to assist us in designing our pet beds. Nobody knows

your pet and their needs like your veterinarian. The first component of our work is asking

veterinarians what is best for the well-being and enjoyment of your pet.

We design fabrics with your pet in mind. While you want the cover to be easy to care for

and aesthetically pleasing, your pet wants something that is comfortable to their fur; a

fabric that when your pet lays on is not causing them to sweat or become overheated.

We design fabrics that are long lasting. When your pet has become comfortable in a

WIKO pet bed, it will be there for them for a long time.

We use seven types of fillings in our pet beds. Not all beds and not all pets are the same;

the same should be true for the foam which plays a large part in making sure your pet is

resting comfortably. Most of our pet beds use multiple types of foams. Some of the more

unique foams we use are:

Viscoelastic – We refer to this as the comfort foam. Our comfort foam conforms to the

shape and weight of the body. This gives your best friend the most comfortable softness

imaginable to provide the most rejuvenating rest possible. The comfort foam fits their

body perfectly, reducing any tension or pressure as well as bringing relief and preventing

any joint or back pain.

Lyocel/Tencel – This is our sponge foam because of its natural ability to absorb moisture

and eliminate odor causing bacteria. This preserves hygiene for you and your pet to

protect you from illness. It is our newest achievement and is derived from wood elastic

fibers.

Synthetic – Our clean foam because it can be machine washed without losing its

properties. Our clean foam does not deform under the pressure of your pet’s weight.

Our seamstresses have been with us for as long as 30 years. These talented artists pay

attention to the details of your pet bed as if they were making it for their own pet. A

WIKO pet bed has impeccable stitching coupled with our special ability of placing the

zipper(s) “out of sight”, yet easy to access for you, and not to be felt by your pet.
