ImminghamThe Port of Immingham is the UK’s largest port by tonnage, and is a strategically-significant UK-wide cargo logistics hub, with a rail infrastructure that handles more than 25% of all UK rail freight.
With river and in-dock deep-water facilities and easy access to the major trade routes, Immingham is less than 24 hours from a European market of 170 million people. Immingham has eight berths handling more than 30 sailings a week to and from Northern Europe and Scandinavia.
Based at Immingham, the state-of-the-art Humber International Terminal (HIT) handles biomass destined for power generators and is able to accommodate vessels carrying cargoes up to 130,000 tonnes. HIT also handles large volumes of solid fuel, animal feed, road salt and grain.
The Immingham Container Terminal, which operates 24/7, is a regional centre for deep-sea container imports, enabling customers to tranship deep-sea containers direct to Immingham on regular short-sea feeder vessels.
