2.6 Mounting of the BS 22 ShelterPrior to the commencement of rack installation, consult the site documentation to locate the installation point of the BTS-rack, the PCM30 network termination, the connection point for AC mains, the nearest ground tag and the access of the antenna cables into the construction room.
For mounting of the rack, the wall mounting frame is required.
Note that the required fixing material such as wall plugs and screws (both for fixing the wall mounting frame to the wall and for fixing the base plate to the wall mounting frame) and washers for correct adjustment are not content of the delivery.
Proceed in steps as follows: Drill one adequate hole into the wall for e.g. the upper righthand or lefthand fixation
and equipp it with a wall plug suitable for screws M12, 80 mm length. Screw the wall mounting frame with that fixation to the wall, align it and mark the
missing 3 fixation positions. Remove the mounting frame again and drill the holes for the marked 3 fixation posi-
tions, put in the wall plugs. Screw the aligned mounting frame with all 4 fixation screws to the wall.
Be sure that it is flat mounted, not twisted. A support bracket is fixed to the rear of the base plate. Locate this bracket in the
cutout of the mounting frame. By simultaneously lowering and rotating the enclosure will naturely come to rest in
its correct position on the mounting frame. Open the security lock located on the lefthand bottom side of the base plate. Turn the 8 mm square drive (located above the security lock) counterclockwise. The cover may now be opened, internal gas springs will assist to open the the cover
and will retain the cover in open position. With the cover open, remove the two M12 screws which retain both the gas spring
covers and the lifting bar. The lifting bar may nowbe removed from the rear of the enclosure.
Re-fit all M12 fixing screws/washers and tighten to 65 Nm, to secure and retain theenclosure to the wall mounting frame. Under no conditions must the cover be closed until all the above M12 retaining screws are refitted and the enclosure is secured to the wall frame.

The same interface will be used for access of Operator Alarms to the back plane from outside (In order to trace an AC failure the adequate alarm can be generated by a UPS,which is taking over the AC power supply, can be transmitted to the OMC).
The SubD 9 connector is marked by inprint " 48V NT".
2.7.4 Local Maintenance Terminal (LMT) InterfaceA SubD 15 female connector, located at the fuse panel is the interface for connecting the Local Maintenance Terminal (LMT) for commissioning and and service purposes.
2.7.5 AC Output for Service EquipmentA connector IEC320 10A female at the cable access could be used for connecting service equipment for commissioning and maintenance.
The connecting cable 3x1,0 mm2 must provide a IEC320 10A plug. The outer diameterof the cable is not limited due to fact that during service activities the cover is open andthe cable access can be opened as well.
g NOTEThe connector IEC320 is not fused on the BS22 side! Thus is it necessary to implement both a 10A fuse slow acting and a 30mA FI switch in the external cable to be connected !

2.8 Mounting Positions of Boards and ModulesThe manufacturer uses code keys for easy use and to prevent the installation of core-and RF-modules at incorrect mounting positions.
The additional transmission equipment (Microwaves and/or NTPMs) will be delivered and installed by the customer personnel (except turnkey contracts).
The subrack on the left contains all RF-modules (Receive Antenna Multicouplers, Power Amplifiers, Transceive-and Processor Units).
The number of the installed modules depends on the number of antenna cells which will be supported and the required number of carriers.
The subrack on the right houses all core modules. The number of installed Baseband Controllers (BBSIG) is equal to the number of carriers.
The plug-in unit ACMDC ( already installed ) converts the primary input voltage into all needed DC voltages.
The following figure shows the correct mounting position of the BTSE-modules.

2.9 System CablingThe system cabling consists of connections which must be installed between the front connectors of the RF modules. It depends on the different equipping variants and the cell configuration of the site.
The prefabricated semi-rigid cables are shipped separately in their own carton to avoid twisting and damage. The following cables are used:
Before starting the installation procedure, refer to the site documentation and determine types and variant numbers of cables required for the complete cabling.
During installation pay attention to the following requirements: To avoid load of the connectors during the bending procedure, bend the cables
before fixing the cable at the front connectors of the modules. Use a bending tool for bending semi-rigid cables.

2.10 Antenna ConnectionsThe BTSE has to be connected to the transmit and receive antennas. The antenna con-figuration and the required cabling are dependent on the site.
For detailed information refer to the site- specific documentation or use the correspond-ing customer documents. This section gives information about the antenna connections and the connecting procedure of the BS 22.
The max. outer diameter of the antenna jumper cable must not exeed 10,5 mm. For con-nection to the TX/RX connector, the 3/8 high bendable jumper cables must be equipped with N-connector male, angle shaped form.
Figure 10 Antenna Cabling BS 22 (example)
The antenna cables access the BS 22 via the cable access at the bottom of the shelter. The max. diameter of the antenna cables must be less than 8 mm.
For connecting of the BTSE short antenna jumper cables must be prepared on site.
Connect the jumper cables as follows: Cut the coaxial cable to the required length
(distance between the BS 22 antenna connectors and the ends of the antenna feeder cables).

BS 22 Installation
Fix a N-type angle connector (male) at the end to be connected with the antenna connectors.
Fix a 7/16 female connector at the end to be connected with the antenna feeder cable.
Lead the jumper cable via the cable access to the antenna connector (ANT 0/1 or ANTdiv. 0/1).Pay attention to the minimum bending radius of the cable.
After fixing of the jumper cable at the antenna connector, use a cable clamp for cable fixing at the cable access.
2.11 Identification of Antenna Feeder CablesThere are two different ways to identify the antenna feeder cables for connecting via short jumper cables to the antenna connectors of the BS22.
For installation and service purposes it is useful to know, which hardware is connectedto which cell. The numbering, seen from the top of the antenne pole, starts at an azimuth angle of 0 (north) and rotates clockwise.
The first existing cell which beam center line lies at 0 or more degree is defined as cell 0 or sector 0. The next one following in the same direction cell is cell 1 etc.
In case of omni cell the cell no. is 0.
