One in five children struggles with a mental health or learning disorder, yet nearly two-thirds go undiagnosed and untreated.

Through early identification and effective treatment, we can turn these children’s lives around. The Child Mind Institute, now a national provider with offices in New York and California, is leading the way through innovative scientific research, the highest standards of clinical care and the free sharing of our resources. Our teams work every day to get children the support and opportunities they deserve. But we need your help to sustain our momentum and help children reach their full potential in school and in life.

Thanks to our supporters, we’ve had an extraordinary impact since our founding in 2009:

Over 1 million parents have used our online Symptom Checker at childmind.org/symptomchecker.

10,600+ parents and school staff have received coaching and training on student mental health and behavior management topics.

The Healthy Brain Network has enrolled 3,300+ children to receive diagnostic evaluations at no cost.

Researchers in 3,262 cities worldwide have accessed our open data sets and published 1,289 articles using data from our open science initiatives.

More than 740,000 people follow us on social media to access trusted expert resources.

Up to 1 million parents and educators visit childmind.org each month to access dependable information for their children.

We have treated 9,700 patients from 44 nations, 48 states and Washington, DC.

More than two-thirds of the children we have reached received free or reduced-cost services.

The Child Mind Institute is an independent, national nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of children and families struggling with mental health and learning disorders. Our teams work every day to deliver the highest standards of care, advance the science of the developing brain, and empower parents, professionals and policymakers with free resources to help children when and where they need it most. Together with our supporters, we’re helping children reach their full potential in school and in life. We share all of our resources freely and do not accept any funding from the pharmaceutical industry. Support us at childmind.org/donate.
