Q What are the current opportunities to bid on Imperial Oil Resources (IOR) work related to Horn River Project?

A We are still in the process of evaluating the potential of our acreage in the Horn River Basin to assess commercial viability. Therefore, future opportunities will be dependant on our proposed project schedule and our ability to develop a commercial project.

Q How do I let you know I’m interested in bidding for IOR work related to the Horn River Project?

A Contact Imperial Procurement Advisor Gord Weir at [email protected] and provide your company profile. We will retain your information on file should future opportunities present themselves for work in the Horn River Basin.

Q Are there any basic criteria required in order to qualify for an IOR contract?

A In addition to being competitive, there are several basic requirements we ask of interested suppliers and service providers.

Safety – In order to qualify for IOR contracts, we require that you have a thorough safety plan in place. At Imperial Oil, we insist that everyone employed by us make workplace safety a priority.

Quality management systems – We expect all businesses bidding for IOR work to have a stringent quality assurance program in place.

Local content - Imperial’s procurement process is designed to provide fair and equal opportunities to all contractors, but local and B.C. contractors would enhance their

competitiveness by having equipment and personnel located near or in Fort Nelson.

Q How do I provide safety statistics to IOR?

A IOR requires contractors to provide their safety statistics through ComplyWorks (HSE Canadian Registry).

Q Do you give preference to local/First Nations/B.C. companies?

A Imperial’s procurement process is designed to provide fair and equal opportunity to all contractors. Contracts are awarded based on Best Total Value, but local and B.C. contractors would enhance their competitiveness by having equipment and personnel located near or in Fort Nelson.

Q What sources does IOR utilize to identify local and B.C. companies?

A IOR utilizes local business directories, the internet, contact with Energy Services B.C. and the Horn River Basin Producers Group procurement desk in Fort Nelson. We also promote contact with local companies through procurement workshops, open houses, and participation in local trade shows and energy expos.

Q Are there opportunities to provide subcontracted services to IOR prime (direct) contractors?

A Yes, Imperial encourages our prime contractors to maximize use of local contractors. Each of IOR’s general contractors has its own subcontractor selection and management process. Contact Gord Weir if you think you

may be able to provide non-core services to one of our general contractors and he will pass your information on to the general contractor.

Q I am interested in finding out what business opportunities are available within the B.C. oil and gas industry as a whole. Can you tell me where I can obtain this information?

A A good local source of information is the Horn River Basin Producers Group’s procurement desk in Fort Nelson. Contact Laurie Dolan, procurement specialist with Energy Services B.C. at 250-321-1906 or at [email protected].

The Energy Services B.C. website can provide information on a broader range of opportunities.

Q I am not interested in bidding for work, but would like to find out more about job opportunities available with the Horn River project. Where can I find that information?

A IOR does not currently have any direct employment opportunities related to the Horn River Project as we are still evaluating the potential of our acreage. However, we encourage you to visit the careers section of our website (www.imperialoil.ca) to see what other career opportunities are available with our company.
