HANDLING O$ ALL MATTERS RELATING TO PERSONNEL
department also deals with the complaints of the employees arising from the
working conditions or from the decision made by the lower le,el managers and super, isors"
Typically grie, ances arise when a worker feels that he has been passed o,er for promotion* is
not getting a fair share of o,ertime or is being asked to work too much o,ertime"
&uch problems are first of presented to immediate super, isor of the employee* if he is unable
to resol,e* then the problem goes to manager and if e,en then the issue is not settled* then it is
presented to human resource manager* who with discuss the problem with director and tries to
reach to solution"
PERSONNEL &OUNSELLING
'mployees are human beings and they need to be treated accordingly" Jhen an
employee is in trouble at work or at home* he appreciates the helpful attitude of coworkers and
organi9ation itself" /ne he is out of trouble* he is more committed to work and the
organi9ation" Therefore personnel department also takes care of employees personal problems*
so that they could work to their full potential"
DE&ISION MAKING
The decision making system is important for an organi9ation* if it is to succeed" ;ustomarily
there are two e8tremesI
#" ;entrali9ed decision making
##" %ecentrali9ed decision making
At DSM TEXTILE it was strongly felt that the organi9ation should follow the

daily affairs are to be appro,ed from the %irectors" Managers ha,e little power to make
decisions"
/n the positi,e this system gi,es effecti, eness and the top management knows
e,erything going on" e has utmost control o,er the functions* he is responsible for"
But on the opposite the argument is that no one person can o,ersee and control all the work*
particularly when organi9ation is ,ery large" #n such care* he should assign some of its
authority and resistibility to the managers and other employees" Also in case of decentrali9ed
system of decision making* the managers can be held responsible for the work done by people
directly under his super,ision"
