THESIS STATEMENT
A thesis statement is the first step in writing any good essay. It is similar to the first hand shake of an interview. You open with a smileand a statement. Showing confidence and giving a sneak peak of theinformation you are about to share.
SENSORY DETAIL
If an essay or paper is unable to paint a picture in the mind of the readerthen it is simply just words written on a piece of paper. The reader has tobe able to sense the details of an essay and then relate those senses to their own prior experiences.
SUBJECTIVE AND OBJECTIVE INFORMATION
Objective information is just the facts and documented truth, while subjectiveinformation is personal opinions or beliefs. A good essay will be able to provide information objectively and use it to support a subjective opinion.
NARROWED SCOPE
While brainstorming before writing an essay, it’s very easy to have a largenumber of ideas. To keep a narrowed scope you must ask yourself if theseideas are necessary enough to support the main point of the essay.
INSIGHT
After spending time researching a particular topic and learning everythingthere is to know, you should be able to provide insight to the reader. That isproviding the information that most people are not aware of in a way that iseasily understandable.
CONCLUSION
The conclusion should tie all of the information provided in a paper backto the thesis statement.
