Pursuant to USC49CFR §577.13 – Notification to Dealerships and Distributors – Paragraph B “It is a violation of Federal Law for a dealer to deliver a new motor vehicle or any new or used item of

motor vehicle equipment (including a tire) covered by the notification under a sale or lease until the defect or noncompliance is remedied. Substantial civil penalties apply to violations of this law.”

–Forest River motorized and towable products are contained within this section- Forest River – Office of Corporate Compliance (“OCC”) has decided that a safety defect/noncompliance in certain 2014 through 2016 model year 340BH, 340KP and 360RB Legacy Motorhomes. Forest River is recalling the defect/noncompliant model(s) to ensure the safety of our future retail consumers and your dealership. Forest River apologizes for any inconvenience this action may cause your dealership; however, safety, continued satisfaction and our commitment to build great products are of the utmost importance to Forest River. The identified VIN numbers are on the attached documents. The identified Date range of production is: September, 2013 through September, 2015 DEFECT/NONCOMPLIANCE: The Legacy 340BH, 340KP, and 360RB have shoulder belts that rest at or below the shoulder. EVALUATION OF RISK: The shoulder belts at issue are located too low on occupant’s torso. This condition may lead to potential injuries if the emergency locking mechanisms of the seat belt assembly are activated. ACTION: Please find the instructions on how to remedy this defect at the end of this document. The Recall/Technical Service Bulletin shall be considered priority to remedy the 2014 through 2016 model year 340BH, 340KP and 360RB Legacy Motorhomes in question. The retail consumer shall not be charged any amount of monies for repair/remedy to their 2014 through 2016 model year 340BH, 340KP and 360RB Legacy Motorhomes that are covered under this Recall/Technical Service Bulletin.

If your dealership has already preformed the repair/remedy to 2014 through 2016 model year 340BH, 340KP and 360RB Legacy Motorhomes, your dealership is entitled to the reimbursement as stated above; if the repair/remedy had been performed on an out of warranty 2014 through 2016 model year 340BH, 340KP and 360RB Legacy Motorhomes in which the VIN number falls under as stated in the opening paragraph where no warranty claim has/had been filed against the VIN number and the consumer paid for the repair/remedy personally. Please contact your Warranty Manager within Forest River to arrange the reimbursement. Proof of repair/remedy shall be required.

Federal regulation requires that any lessor receiving this Recall/Technical Service Bulletin must forward a copy of this notice to the lessee within ten days. If your dealership no longer owns this vehicle, please inform the Warranty Manager of the product listed above of the change of ownership.

Legacy seatbelt replacement procedure

The goal of this document is to replace the original seatbelts and mount the shoulder restraint of the seatbelt 2 ½” higher on the sidewall.

1. Remove driver and passenger front wheel well covers to gain access to retractor bolt.

2. Remove old seatbelt assembly from wall, floor, and seat.

3. Locate seatbelt wall hole

4. Measure 4” above and below seatbelt hole. Cut a 3” wide by 8” tall

area of paneling to gain access to rivets.

5. Place a #8 x 1 1/2” self-tapper screw 3 1/2” below the seatbelt hole location. This will prevent the plate from sliding down inside the aluminum tube.

6. Drill out the original rivets holding the steel plate in place.

7. Mark the new seatbelt hole location 2 1/2” up from old hole location

8. Drill a new 1/2” hole in the marked location

9. Using a stiff piece of copper with a hook on one end, slide the hook through the old seatbelt hole and hook it to the seatbelt plate.

10. Slide the plate up to the new seatbelt hole.

11. Place another #8x 1 1/2” screw 3 1/2” below new 1/2” hole to keep

the plate in place.

12. Remove the cooper hook.

13. Thread seatbelt bolt into plate.

14. Drill two 3/16” holes through the plate and rivet plate in place.

15. Remove the seatbelt bolt, and the two #8x1 1/2” screws

16. Position the ABS wall cover on the wall and hold in place.

17. Mark and drill out 1/2” hole for seatbelt bolt in ABS cover. Careful to not go too deep and damage the seatbelt plates threaded nut.

18. Layer parts as follows over shoulder bolt: place sash section of seatbelt, followed by 3/8” washer, followed by cover, followed by another 3/8” washer

19. Attach stack up section of new seatbelt assembly to wall.

20. Torque to 45 ft. /lbs.

Use: 2- Flat washer, 3/8” 1- Shoulder bolt, 7/16-20 x 1 3/4”

21. Locate the floor hole

22. Mount new floor assembly bracket of seatbelt assembly to floor

23. With assistance torque bolt through floor to 35 ft. /lbs.

Use: 1- Carriage bolt, 3/8-16 x 5” 1- Flat washer, 3/8” 1- Lock washer, 3/8” 1- Hex nut, 3/8-16

24. Mount seatbelt retractor to floor bracket. Retractor should angle towards back of unit.

25. Torque to 45 ft. /lbs.

Use: 1- Lock washer, 1/2” 1- Hex nut 7/16-20

26. Screw ABS floor cover to floor, over floor bolt.

27. Attach seatbelt to pedestal

28. Torque to 110 ft. /lbs. Use: 1- Hex bolt, 1/2-13 x 1 1/4”

1- Lock washer, 1/2”

29. Repeat on other side of unit.

30. Re-attach wheel well covers.
