Parent’s Information Pick- up & drop-off procedures For security reasons, parents or guardians must sign their child(ren) in and out of each program session every day. All students

must be signed out by a parent or guardian listed on the authorized person(s) form. Photo Identification must be shown. Parents

must pick their children up immediately. For safety reasons we do not allow children to wait near busy streets or close to parking

lots. Please plan a safe pick up and drop off location as your child is not supervised.

If your child is 12 years of age or older, you may sign a waiver form which releases your child from this policy, and allows them to

sign themselves in and out. Unfortunately if your child is under the age of 12, this policy does not apply, and we are only able to

release him/her to a parent/guardian. Forms can be found online and will be made available on the first day of the camp. The

release waiver form must be received on the first day of camp in order for your child to sign him/herself out. When a participant

over the age of 12 has signed out, they must immediately leave the college campus or program site.

Please Note: Douglas College is not responsible for your children’s safety or actions before/after camp hours when authorized to

sign in/out. You will not be notified if your child is absent or does not sign in.

Consent forms Douglas College has established rules and regulations pertaining to camp safety, and it is important that you read and understand

all polices. Legal guardians are required to read and sign/agree to all liability and consent forms.

What your child needs to bring to camp Full Day Campers: Please send your child with a lunch, a snack and a water bottle. Supervised lunch care is for full day campers

only. Please send your child with a healthy “cold lunch”.

Half Day Campers: A snack and water bottle.

Sun Block: We may be spending time outside (weather permitting), so please make sure your child(ren) have appropriate sun block

on when they arrive. Instructors cannot apply sun block to your child, so please make sure children arrive ready to go.

Attendance If your child will be absent, please notify camp staff by calling 604-527-5680. Please leave a detailed voicemail which includes the

child’s name, camp name and date he/she will be absent. It is the parent’s responsibility to make sure that their child gets signed in

at the beginning of camp. You will not be notified if your child is absent from the program. Camp participation may be terminated if

the parent cannot comply with the arrival and pickup times. No refund will be given.

Half day camp transfers and hot lunch We provide camp transfers (no charge) and care of your child over lunch when your child is registered in two half day camps that

run on the same day/week. Please let the instructor know on the first day that your child is taking a second half day camp and will

be requiring a transfer. Campers are supervised at all times during lunch and cannot leave with a parent over this time.

Weather and facility closure policy All outdoor camps operate rain or shine. It is important that your child brings weather appropriate clothing and gear. We will only

cancel/reschedule an outdoor program due to unsafe conditions (i.e. lightning, freezing rain, etc.). You will be notified of a camp

cancelation due to weather or facility closures. All facilities closures or camp cancellations will be posted online.

Children are separated by age and skill level All campers are separated by age and skill level on the first day of camp. Education camps separate participants into groups based
