CuttingAccuracy

5

Impuls lasers achieve highproductivity and accuracy bycombining high axis speeds withoptimal cutting conditions over theentire cutting area, using a uniqueconstant beam length system.

In most machines, the divergenceof a laser beam is compensated byuse of a telescope and/or adaptiveoptics. With these systems, however,a variation in cut quality over thecutting area can occur becauseof a change in the focal positionand/or focal spot size. The constantbeam length system of the Impulseliminates the divergence of thelaser beam, ensuring identicalresults over the entire cuttingarea, at optimal speeds, withsuperior edge quality.

The edge function featurefacilitates cutting sharp corners, particularly in thicker plate.

A unique beam length compensation system eliminates thedivergency of the laser beam, ensuring identical cutting resultsat any location within the cutting area at optimal speed.

Laser Package

All LVD lasers systems featurethe Fanuc laser package.

Fanuc, global market leaderin CNCs and drive mechanisms,is a major supplier of laser systemswith over 10000 units sold. Thecompany produces a custompackage solution for LVD thatdelivers important benefits forlaser systems users.

The Fanuc laser package includesa laser, CNC controller, and digitalservo drives. The package gives theuser full control over the cuttingprocess with the most reliabletechnology in the world. End-users benefit from integralinterfaces, easy installation andstart-up, and a host of additionalfunctions that make laserprocessing more economical.

Impuls systems use a 4 or 6 kWfast axial flow high power CO2

laser with high frequency (HF)excitation utilizing MOSFETsemiconductor technology. Highfrequency resonators are universallyaccepted as extremely reliableand maintenance friendly. Thereis no need to change electrodesdue to erosion or because ofcontamination. These lasers alsoprovide extremely economicaluse of laser gas (10-20 l/H). Allresonators feature the latest radiofrequency excitation technologyfor high reliability.

Impuls 4030, 6530, 8030 and12530 laser systems combine highprocessing accuracy and large tablecapacity to uniquely address heavyplate fabrication requirements.

Impuls heavy-duty laser systemsprovide the largest sheet carryingcapacity in the industry with atable capacity of three meters.

These laser systems accommodatemultiple sheets, up to 16 sheets of3 x 1.5 meter material. The ability toload multiple workpieces increasescutting time and reduces materialhandling. Using larger materialsizes also improves sheetsutilization and nesting efficiency.

Impuls systems process flat plateup to 25 mm mild steel, 15 mmaluminum, and 20 mm stainlesssteel. The machines also providea fully programmable Z-axis withtravel up to 280 mm.

Flexibility is the key to productivityin laser cutting. With the capabilityto process flat plate, pre-formedparts and tubes, the Impuls 4020-Roffers the highest level of flexibilityavailable in the market today.

The standard configurationprovides two shuttle tables anda 280 mm fully programmableZ-axis for use with a rotary axisor for processing pre-formed parts. The shuttle table allows the userto load/unload one table whilethe machine processes flat plateor load the table while processingpre-formed parts. Changeoverfrom flat sheet to rotary can beachieved within seconds.

The Impuls 4020-R processeslarger diameter tubes (up to500 mm) and pre-formed partsthan any other system and is theonly machine of its type tocombine rotary and flat platecutting with ease for the ultimatein processing flexibility.

The Impuls 4020-R processes tubesup to 500 mm diameter with aweight of 950 kg. Even whenprocessing a single part, the 4020-Ris the ideal tool, since flat sheetcutting can continue during rotaryset-up or loading/unloading ofthe tubes.
