IMT-2020 (FIFTH GENERATION) – BASE STATION

This technical code specifies the minimum requirement for

Base Station (BS) that is intended for use in IMT-2020 mobile

telecommunications systems in Malaysia.

This Technical Code applies to IMT-2020 (Fifth Generation) 5G

Base Station based on the technologies as specified in

MTSFB2002R0. Document had completed Public

Comment & ready for Reference Panel

approval prior to MCMC submission

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (1/2)

• Power Supply

• Operating voltage:i. Single phase = 240V +5% -10% and frequency 50Hz ± 1%

ii. Three phase = 415V +5% -10% and frequency 50Hz ± 1%

• In accordance to MS 406 or MS IEC 60038

• Adaptor shall be pre-approved by relevant Regulatory Body

Specify the requirements for the following items:

• Power Supply Cord & Mains Plug

• In line with requirements by Suruhanjaya Tenaga

• Power supply cord conformance:

i. PVC insulated - flexible cord = MS 2112-5 or BS 50525-2-11 or IEC 60227-5

ii. Rubber insulated – flexible cord = MS 2127-4 or IEC 60245-1

• Mains plug conformance:

i. 13A fused plug = MS 589-1 or BS 1363

ii. 15A fused plug = MS 1577

iii. Flat non-rewireable 2-pole plug = MS 1578 or BS EN 50075

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (2/2)Specify the requirements for the following items:

• Marking

• Marking on equipment shall contain the following information:

i. Supplier/manufacturer’s name or identification mark,

ii. Supplier/manufacturer’s model or type reference, and

iii. Other markings as required by relevant standard

• Shall be legible, indelible and readily visible

• Shall have marking in either Bahasa Melayu or English


TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS (1/4)

• RADIO FREQUENCY• 5G BS shall operate within the following frequency bands:

• In addition, 5G BS may operate in other existing bands identified

in Malaysian IMT systems

(A) All 5G BS shall comply to (one or more):

i. 3GPP TS 38.104 Version 15.5.0 Release 15;

ii. 3GPP TS 38.141-1 Version 15.2.0 Release 15;

iii. 3GPP TS 38.141-2 Version 15.3.0 Release 15;

iv. ETSI TS 138 104;

v. ETSI TS 138.141-1; and/or

vi. ETSI TS 138 141-2




• RADIO FREQUENCY (CONTINUED)

(B) 5G BS with Active Antenna System (AAS) shall comply to (one or

more):

i. 3GPP TS 37.145-1 Version 15.3.0 Release 15;

ii. 3GPP TS 37.145-2 Version15.3.0 Release 15;

iii. ETSI TS 137 145-1; and/or

iv. ETSI TS 137 145-2

(C) Multi-Standard Radio (MSR) BS shall comply to (one or more):

i. 3GPP TS 37.141 Version 15.6.0 Release 15; and/or

ii. ETSI TS 137 141

• If the 5G BS support other technologies, shall meet the respective

Technical Codes or Class Assignments
