IMW’s Bulk Gas Transportation systems have enabled customers worldwide to take advantage
of the tremendous cost reduction and environmental benefits of converting to natural gas without
waiting for expensive pipeline of LNG infrastructure. IMW’s Pressure Reducing System (PRS) is
designed for pressure let-down of CNG delivered via CNG trailer at pressures up to 3600 psig.
The PRS is comprised of two main components, the Pressure Reducing Module (PRM) and the
Heat Control Module (HCM). These systems are skid-mounted and have different electrical zone
characteristics. The PRM creates a Class I Zone 2 area for 15 feet* in all directions from the edges
of the skid.*Based on the applicable NFPA52 code used in the USA
IMW’s Mobile PRMS includes proven CNG systems in the ease of a mobility package. Each pack-age has an industrial CNG compressor, high-pressure CNG storage, multi-point CNG dispensing, gas controls and electrical controls, all on a unique, purpose-built transport trailer.
In conjunction with IMW’s compressors, our Pressure Reduction Systems allow
Maximum Offload Capacity, ensuring that only a minimal amount of gas is left on the trailer before it is
disconnected. This is achieved by using two line unloading methodologies where possible, designing
systems for minimal pressure drop, and employing scavenging compression where necessary to remove
remaining gas.
Along with IMW’s compressors, our Pressure Reduction systems have proven
scalability to provide standard product to custom applications. This provides redundancy. Standard prod-
ucts ensure excellent reliability and quality. It is easy to add more units if demand increases and remove
equipment and move to several smaller sites once gas pipeline arrives.

APPLICATIONS
Permanent Site Deployable Site Mobile SiteIndustrial application where natural gas pipeline infrastructure is not available, yet significant cost savings can be realized by utilizing natural gas as the energy source instead of conventional fuels such as bunker oil. IMW’s compression and decompression equipment can be used together with mobile storage to create a virtual pipeline in order to recognize these cost savings.
Multiple modular PRS units that are easy and cost-effective to transport can be installed in par-allel at temporary sites in order to allow rated capacities in multiples of IMW standard equipment rated flowrates. Individual units can be re-deployed to other sites with different capacity requirements once the need at the original site changes.
