• MUNisasimulationoftheUnitedNationsorganization.Likewise,committeesareestablishedtoaddressworldissues.Studentdelegatesassumetheposition of a specific country or the role of a country’s President. Each committee deliberates with very strict rules of order as they propose, discuss, andvoteonresolutions.

• The MUN Program is a great way for students to learn about international relations,negotiation,publicspeaking,teamwork,investigation,communication,andjournalisticskills.

. . . In 2012 Pan-American School held its 9th edition of Model United Nations (MUN) Conference with seven schools and 230 students participating.

• Even more importantly, the skills acquired help students to find ways to resolve conflict and promote world peace. They learn that the world’s most urgent and pressing problems are extremely complexandmustbeapproachedconsideringdiverseviews.

• All students in our Secondary School have the opportunity to participate in roles with increasing responsibility throughout the their education. Starting as pages in their early years, students can aspiretobecomeCommitteeChairsorevenMUNSecretaries General in their final years.

We are proud to be one of the pioneers of this program in Costa Rica.
