The Honorable Supreme Court on April 28th, 2016 finally approved NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test as the single examination for entry into all MBBS and BDS seats in the country. The development which happened three days before the AIPMT 2016 exam has created a lot of confusion amongst medical aspirants who were studying for various medical entrance exams all across the country.

NEET-UG (Undergraduate), for MBBS and BDS courses, are conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

The NEET exam pattern test is same as the AIPMT (All India Premedical/Pre-Dental Test) and comprise of three sections: 1. Physics 2.Chemistry 3.Biology (Botany and Zoology)

Set a Target rank in NEET 2017 and focus on marks which are required to achieve your target rank

(can be predicted by estimated data as mentioned in previous slide).

Now analyse minimum past five years question papers of AIPMT/NEET and strategize your

preparations accordingly. The analysis can be found in further slides.

Tips for Physics It can be observed by above analysis of Physics that half of the paper is covered by Mechanics, Magnetism, Heat &

Thermodynamics, Ray & Wave Optics. By concentrating on these chapters, a student can easily get not only the cut-off buta good marks.

Heat & Thermodynamics is comparatively easier than others so it can be easily prepared.

Generally questions from Modern Physics, Semiconductor are also scoring.

Tips for Chemistry Students must focus on all three part of chemistry – Physical , Organic & Inorganic because weightage of all three’s are

almost same every year as shown in above graph.

Students must be strong in Chemical Bonding which helps in organic and inorganic questions solving. From NEET point of view, Chemical bonding is also important as it can be observed that every year minimum four questions are asked from Chemical Bonding.

Students should not neglect chapters like Biomolecules, Polymers, Chemistry in everyday life, Surface Chemistry, Practical Organic Chemistry and Qualitative Analysis. Questions asked from these chapters are straight forward and memory based.

In Organic Chemistry, reactions must be practiced through conversion like it stead of reading reaction by reaction , solve asmany conversions as possible which helps to remember all the reaction.

In Physical Chemistry, Revise the formula and important principles.

In Inorganic Chemistry, Use Study tables for remembering all the reactions and structures like make table of oxy acids, oxides etc.

As per above analysis, following topics are important from marks weightage point of view:• Morphology in Plant, Organism & Environment, Reproduction in plant , Cell Division & all cycle, Diversity in Organism. These

topics must be focused by students.

Students should not neglect or overlook the topics of 11th Standard like morphology of plants. Plant growth as these topics are getting considerable weightage.

More focus to be given on application based topics like Biotechnology, Enhancement in Crop production. From Such topics, application based questions are asked.

Ecology, Physiology & Genetics topics are given more focus in examination so get the basic concepts of these topics very clear.

Don’t miss/skip diagrams as two to three questions are asked by illustration of diagrams.

Tips for Zoology

As per above analysis, following topics are important from marks weightage point of view:• Reproduction, Organism & Environment, Control & Coordination. These topics must be covered to get a good score in

Zoology.

Apart from above topics, Animal Kingdom , Chromosomal Basis of Inheritance, Origin & Evolution, Health & Diseases are also important.

Remember to start solving Biology Questions first followed by Physics & Chemistry.

Practice solving MCQ’s of the topics you have prepared so that it will help to know how much more preparation you require to solve the questions of that topic.
