Foundation Governor St Georgersquos Catholic School wishes to appoint a new Foundation Governor

on to the Governing Body Foundation Governors are appointed by the

Bishop for a four-year term to ensure that the religious character of the school is preserved The school is

looking for an enthusiastic and committed member of our parish who

is prepared to express their views listen to the views of others

representing the school amp to influence pupilsrsquo education for the better

The amount of people coming to the weekend daily Masses has been steadily increasing over the past few weeks and we are now running at just above a third of our usual pre-Covid numbers many people are also using the opportunity to come to Mass during the week rather than on a Saturday evening or Sunday morning There are still quite a few people who are apprehensive about returning to church and to these I would say ldquoI understand your apprehensionrdquo but donrsquot forget we usually have the church open for an hour or two after the end of Mass and generally on these occasions there are seldom more than three or four people in the church so you may wish to use this time to make a visit For everyonersquos safety we require each person to wear a mask when they attend church and this is becoming a regular sight not only in church but everywhere Certainly the science behind the masks does indicate that they help to reduce the spread of infection either from you or to you On a completely different front the last few weeks have seen a great deal of redecoration on some of the exterior areas of St Georgersquos these areas have been somewhat neglected over the past few years Wooden fencing has been erected by the garage to secure the area of land behind the garage which formerly was used by individuals for all sorts of unsavoury practices Finally the stonemasons from Bristol have been here to settle on the piece of granite for the church wall situated in the memorial garden at St Georgersquos Church and hopefully this will be installed by the end of next month

A MASK is compulsory at Mass for those over the age of four amp be Socially Distanced at all times especially when queuing for Communion Once the Church is at full capacity for Mass the doors will be closed no one else will be allowed inside This therefore means that not everyone will be able to attend a Sunday Mass However because of this it will mean that the Sunday obligation will not apply until we are able to offer everyone a seat in the church Please attend only one Sunday Mass as you may prevent someone else from attending Do not forget that on Sundayrsquos amp Saturday evenings both churches will need to be vacated straight after Mass in order for cleaning to take place Many thanks
