Metal Bulletin Events and SMR’s AsianStainless Steel Conference is Asia’s foremoststainless & special steel industry summit, attended by decision makers from the regionand internationally.
Seventh in the series, the conference will gatherleading industry experts to examine the latestmarket trends across Asia and define the newdirection for Asian stainless steel at today’scross road.
Asia has become the focal point of the stainlesssteel industry over the last 10 years. However, despite rapid growth, production capacities farexceed regional demand, to the tune of 9million tonnes per year. The Asian stainlesssteel industry will need to address restructuringinside and outside China, just as their counter-parts in Europe and North America do.
At the same time, approximately 2/3 of world-wide growth (1.5 mill tonnes in 2012) will takeplace in China (+830,000t) and other parts ofAsia (+200,000t) this year, confirming the regionas the growth engine of the global stainlesssteel industry. The 2-day conference willaddress all relevant commercial issues forStainless Flat Products, Raw Materials and LongProducts, and offer the biggest networkingplatform in this industry, in Asia, in 2012.
