If you do not want to make any changes to your benefits for the 2020 year, no action is necessary. Do not forget to print your benefits confirmation statement.
2020 ENHANCEMENTSPre-Medicare Aetna• Expanded new formulary, the Aetna Standard Plan: includes 100 previously excluded drugs• Concierge: In 2020, Aetna members will have a dedicated line to help you make informed decisions regarding
your health care. The concierge team will be equipped with valuable plan information, tools, and resources to help members get the most out of their benefits.
• Don’t forget: US Imaging is available to save you money on advanced imaging services• New Aetna insurance cards are coming in the mail before January 1, 2020
Kaiser• KP Now Telemedicine: KP Now provides members the option to have a same-day telephone or video
appointment with a KP Now provider. KP Now is a patient-centered service designed to meet members’ needs for a quick, convenient resolution to symptoms.

LIFE STATUS CHANGEThe chart below explains examples of events that qualify as a life status change and lists the proper documentation needed to make changes. The Benefits Division must be notified within 30 days of the qualifying event. If you are unsure if you have a qualifying event, call the Benefits Division at 770.822.7932.

Marriage or birth/adoption No new dependents can be added to Gwinnett County health plans after retirement.
Divorce or legal separation
Divorce Decree or Legal Separation AgreementFailure to notify Human Resources in writing within 30 days of a divorce or legal separation can result in reimbursement to Gwinnett County for any employer-paid premiums for any ineligible dependents left on the plan.
Death of a spouse Death Certificate
You, your spouse, or your eligible dependent has a loss or gain of qualified coverage
Proof of comparable group coverage loss or gain
Other This is not an exclusive list. Please contact Human Resources if you think you may have a qualifying life status change.
