February 3rd Program with Jerry OsbornPreparing Your Images For Print

At some point we all should consider printing the wonderful images we photograph, but navigating the world of digital printing can be daunting and overwhelming.

On February 3rd, Jerry Osborn (SOCO Imaging of Colorado Springs) will be talking us through his process for preparing images for print, and all the things we need to consider. This promises to be a very informative program that should provide valuable insights for all skill levels.

Jerry’s services are used by many of Colorado’s finest artists and photographers.

This Month's Competition is WinterThe official definition - Photos depicting some element or aspect of winter. Photos taken during winter months in warm or tropical climes are not acceptable.

The way most of Colorado looks this time of year you should have no problem finding suitable images for the competition. Good luck everyone.

If you need the Competition Entry forms or the template for the stick-on labels, you can get both from the Focus website on the Competition Rules page.

Frame #37A collection of extra tidbits I've discovered during the past few weeks.

— Buzzfeed.com is chock full of outlandish headlines meant to grab you by the eyeballs and get you to stop everything and go to their site. At least this one is relative to us...The Most Astonishing Photos That Won Awards In 2014

— Photoshop Week 2015 at CreativeLive.com is Feb. 23-28. 5 days of FREE PS training from some of the best teachers around. Visit the CreativeLive website to RSVP for the event.

— Don't get caught up in gear, lab tests, fancy software, or any marketing BS. Just go shoot something!

— Photo trips? How about Ireland, or Durango, CO, or maybe you're ready for the Galapagos.
