Senior Achievements

2 SNAPS

It is a recurring theme

that seniors are expected to

give their younger brothers

their collected knowledge

regarding the tradition of the

fraternity, and the official

interworkings of the chapter.

This column, and future col-

umns like it, will be dedicat-

ed to documenting the awe-

some successes of our sen-

iors, including their contribu-

tions to our chapter. In this

first edition, we are profiling

three brothers, Brother Ty-

ler Arceneaux, Brother

Paul Falkowski, and

Brother John “Remi”

Humphrey.

Tyler was a fall term

initiate of the 2011-2012

school year. Paul was initiat-

ed with the winter pledge

class that same year. Since

then they have done impres-

sive things both on and off

campus. Tyler is a Political

Science major. He hopes to

practice law after he gradu-

ates, and is scheduled to take

the LSAT on October 5th,

2013. He is currently the

Team Captain of the men’s

track and field team. As a

Sigma Chi, he has been

Quaestor and Pro Consul. As

members of our kitchen

crew, Tyler and Paul were

both instrumental in getting

our newly renovated kitchen

up to par to comply with

Health Department standard.

In addition to being

Kitchen Steward, and over-

seeing the aforementioned

renovation project, Paul was

also the Alumni Relations

chairman his junior year. On

campus he is involved in a

wide variety of clubs, gener-

ally focused on speaking out

for minority groups on cam-

pus. These include Kaleido-

scope, Love out Loud, and

others. Paul is a history ma-

jor who hopes to be a muse-

um curator one day. This

past summer, he interned at

the Marshall County histori-

cal Society Museum, where

he did an impressive amount

of projects. When asked

about his internship he said,

“This internship was an

amazing experience and truly

helped me to realize that my

life was headed in the right

direction,”

John Humphrey, affec-

tionately called Remi by his

brothers, is a 9th semester

senior. When asked about

why he rushed Sigma Chi, he

had this to say:

“One of the most im-

portant reasons for why I

joined Sigma Chi was its

daily emphasis on the values

of Friendship, Justice, and

Learning. However, the ide-

al of Learning is the one

which I hold dearest to my

heart.” And Remi has spent

his entire time in college

being a model student, and a

perfect example of our aspi-

ration of learning. He is in a

plethora of honor societies,

including the senior honor

society, Mortar Board, and

the Foreign Language honor

society, Phi Sigma Iota.

As a junior he spent his

spring term in Quito, Ecua-

dor where he interned at an

International Corporate Law

office, Quevedo y Ponce &

Asociados. One of his prima-

ry duties as an intern includ-

ed the translation of the

firm’s correspondence and

legal documents between

English and Spanish. Imme-

diately following his intern-

ship, he was awarded an im-

pressive IIE/NSEP Senator

David L. Boren International

Language Scholarship which

is jointly funded through the

United States Dept. of De-

fense and Dept. of State.

With this scholarship, he

studied Brazilian Portuguese

and International Agrarian

Law at the Catholic Univer-

sity of Salvador. In the future

Remi’s goal is to live and

work in Brazil as a Regional

Adviser for the US Govern-

ment or as a Sales Repre-

sentative for a Fortune 500

Company.
