LAZY DAISIES MEET CELORON — The Lazy Daisies met Tuesday for lunch at the home of Mrs. Viola Nelson. Honors in games went to Mrs. Edith Bache- lor, Mrs. Dorothy Carlson and Mrs. Mae Nelson. There will be no meetings during July and August. Mrs. Sadie Schultz will entertain in September. Folconer Teacher John Felton Gets Scholarship FALCONER-^ohn Felton, junior high science teacher at Falconer Central School, Is the recipient of a State Education Department scholarship, according to a report received from Alfred University. The scholarship covers tuition, fees, room and? board for a six weeks summer course at Alfred University. Mr.f Felton will par- ticipate in th<i course entitled "Current Developments in the Sci- ences." These seholaiships have been made available as a result of funds provided fey a recent act of the Legislature. The primary pur- pose of the program is both to serve as a refresher and to fa- miliarize teachers with modern concepts in order that they may improve their otwi instruction and act as resourct teachers to their colleagues. The squirrel eomes down trees head first. Mrs. Larson Feted At Birthday Party CELORON — Mrs. Eva Larson, West Livingston Avenue, was hon- ored Sunday at a party in observ- ance of her 62d birthday. Sixteen relatives, neighbors and friends were present. Attending from away were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Larson and sons, Terry and Kevin, of Warren, O., and Carl R. Lar- son, Frewsburg. On Monday, members of the Jamestown Lions Auxiliary visited Mrs. Larson with treats for her birthday and a purse of money. Hostesses were Mrs. Ernest Tif- fany, Mrs. Phelps, Mrs. Erickson and Mrs. Maclntyre. Blockville Panama 3>7M Mrs. Clara Dewey and her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Neil Dewey of Union City, Pa., were callers on Mrs. Mae Parkin on Monday. Mrs. Pearl Thomas of Wellsboro. Pa., and Zephyr Hills, Fla.. visited Mrs. Mabel Choate recently. Most of the U.S. turkey supply originates in Ohio's Columbiana Fulton and Knox counties. Gloria Dei Board Plans Family Picnic LAKEWOOD—The newly organ- ized Board of Administration of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Tues- day night discussed future plans for the Sunday School. It also approved a family picnic program, which will be held at the Lutheran Camp, Chautauqua Lake, the date to be announced. Comprised of the Boards of Trus- tees and Deacons, it was its first meeting as a new board. Rev. Paul Beck, Mayville. presided. The Board will hereafter meet quarterly. Frewsburg Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Gustafson accompanied their daughter, Ruth, to East Bernie where she will at- tend an aquatic school for 10 days. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Emond and family of Hampton, Va., were re- cent guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Gustafson. Ellery Center Bemus Point t-ltt Weekend guesta of Mr. and Mis. Clyde Smiley were Miss Lee Judy Smiley of Rochester and Mr. and Mrs. R. Porter Smiley and daughters. Suzanne and Kimberly, of Webster. They all attended the Pier Reunion at Mead Park, Corry.
