The evenings

In the evenings, after the programme I spent most of the time with the Euriade

students. We talked about our countries, about school, hobbies, played different

games and had fun together. We met each time in the big rooms or in the hall of the

second building and began to play cards and to listen to Serbian or South African

music. When we told jokes, everybody was laughing even if the joke was a bad one.

Most of us did not have the problem of being ashamed of talking and socializing with

the others and we all behaved as if were brothers and sisters so that shyness

eventually disappeared.

We also had the chance to hear about interesting life experiences and stories which

could be taken in as life lessons. Sometimes we went for a walk to the Neustrasse to

admire the houses and to take some fresh air. We also inspected all Rolduc’s gardens

and surroundings and took some pictures in order not to forget about them.

The activities after the programme helped us get closer to each other and we shared

everything we had, from sweets and chips to drinks or medicine. It was a pity because

when we began to know each other better, we had to go home.

The last night we promised not to sleep but just a few of us did not go to bed. I think

that Euriade was, is and will be one of the best projects because it gives you the

opportunity to share your culture with other people, to make new friends and to visit

some unique places with wonderful landscapes. I really miss it!
