COMING IN AUGUST!Chee Ricketts Watercolor WorkshopAward winning artist and teacher chee kludt Ricketts will host a workshop at the Arts center in Orange - August 4, 2012 from 10am-4pm. this one-day event will help to unravel the mystery of how to apply watercolor washes, a key to success in water-colors. Reserve your space now as space is limited!
“My paintings navigate between reality and interpreted vision, creating impressionistic scenes of subtle tension. Saturated color and intense values make the ordinary extraordinary, be it an object on a table, a flower in the garden, or a figure in an open field. My approach is both spontaneous and controlled, where quick brush-work, washes, and manipulated light are countered by passages
of precise rendering. Evoking the essence of the familiar, I seek to transport the viewer to a heightened appreciation of ephemeral moments in time.” Chee Kludt Ricketts
Save the Date! Floral Design Lecture and Demonstration by Hardie Newton what does texture add to the composition? why are certain color combinations full of zest and sparkle? why not a smaller container? what is process? what is completion? learn the answers to these questions and more from Master gardener, Master floral designer, Author and international workshop leader hardie newton.July 14, 2012 from 10am - 2pm at the Arts center in Orange. call the Arts center at 540-672-7311 for more details. “
