Road to Target

Students have to follow all phases of SDLC

To complete the Project work.

SDLC stands for System Development Life Cycle.


Stages of Project work:

• Problem Definition

• Analysis

• Design

• Implementation

• Testing

• Documentation

• Evaluation and Future Development


Marks Distribution for Project work


1. Problem Definition & Analysis Phase

• Students have to Choose a topic for CIE Project for Example Stock Control System, Inventory Control System, Flight Reservation System etc.

• To select the topic Students may use Internet, Sample Projects of previous years from campus library.

• Soft Copies are also available to view in computer Lab.

• I as project coordinator will always be available for support and guidance.


2. Design Phase

• In design phase students have to write overall plan for the system design.

• Description of method of solution

• Hardware requirements

• Software requirements

• System Flowcharts


3. Implementation Phase

• In Implementation phase students have to implement the designed plan practically using computer languages, Database & Reporting Software etc.

• Method of Solution related to problem

• Program Coding

• Accurate method of solution.


4. Testing

• Students have to test the system thoroughly with great details to minimize the errors

• Test Strategy must be very clear and each aspect of testing checked.

• Test results must be shown

• Testing plays very important role to run a software efficiently in the organization.


5. Documentation

• Documentation is the compilation of your Project work in form of hard copy.

• It must be organized in a sequence which provides an easy way to understand your product.

• Color print outs can only be used for Section separator (Project stage’s main heading) of the project.

• Binding must of same pattern for all students.

• Two types of Documentation have to be produced

1. Technical Documentation2. User Guide


6. Evaluation

• Evaluation of the software should be written in such a way that it can be implemented in future.

• Evaluation should include future enhancement of the software too.
