Today, we're living in a world which constantly changes and transforms. In

such an environment, organizations need to evolve and change more. The

development of a comprehensive approach to change management is a perfect tool for managers of this era. Managers who want

to be matched with environmental changes and take advantage of innovations in the

way of achieving their goals.

The organization has a complex entity composed of various aspects and is

known among the most complex systems as social systems. In the

analysis of complex social systems, Bolding considers parts of it besides

humans, including roles that the person is responsible in different

situations.

Thus, the organizations or almost all the social systems can be defined as a set of roles that are tied together by a variety of communication channels. Humans naturally tend to simplify the phenomena being studied and want to reach the original design and the basis of the pattern by cutting the surface of the phenomena.

This is what can be done with the use of metaphors. It means that we can

The organization is like a multi aspects charter that we need to take a critical look to all aspects in order to know and we need to look with different eyes. Analogies and metaphors are not merely to understand the organizations. But are also useful in the management.

Therefore, by combining the reality of technology and natural genetic with

knowledge management can take effective steps due to the

improvement of the organizations.

The main purpose of this study is, providing a useful set for the

managers and consulting organizations and also students and

professors in management areas, due to the lack of Persian resources and

information in the field of Organizational DNA and the

necessity of it.

Therefore, the metaphor organizational DNA that played an

important role in the recognition of the organization and leadership and

management functions, such as how to make decisions, organizational

structure, team work and its communication, can show us the

different aspects of the situation of the organization.

economic, social – cultural roles. Thus, the efficiency of the

One important factor in the effectiveness of these organizations in the area of management research and the organization is implementing

its results. One of the major issues facing the sport today is the

organizational changes. Because the world around them is changing

constantly.

Therefore, the researches which can help this issue is crucial for them.

Understanding organizational DNA can help the change and institutional

improvement. For this reason, the main issue of the research is to

identify DNA dominates the General Administration of Sports and Youth in

Fars province.

The concept of organizational DNA

Organizational DNA is a theory or a metaphor contains the elements that describe the character of the organization together and it is helpful for the description and explanation of organization’s activities.

Types of organizational DNA

Hnald and Silverman believe that four types of organizational DNA has identified based on the daily actions of organizations.

1 - Objective DNA: based on linear models and calculations of quantitative forecasts.

2 – meaning oriented DNA: based on the theories, concepts and theoretical paradigm.

3 - Field Oriented DNA: based on the communications within and outside the

organization.

4 – Individualistic DNA people : whether as an individual, or as a member of what is collected.

Objective DNA is related to the organizations that use factual data from internal and external data in order to identify and evaluate themselves and their environment. They continued their performance based on data obtained from the assessment and use the consequences for the development of all policies, practices and procedures, and development agencies.

Spiritual DNA is related to those organizations that provide the

formation of sweeping statements, perspectives and other elements of

meaning and value through a series of provocative ideas. These ideas and

statements play the role of belief system or ideology of the organization.

They are light and staff directory, decision-makers and all those involved

in the organization of working life and organizational requirements.

Field oriented DNA related to those organizations that emphasizes the field in which things are done. It is the effort that people involved the issues that they are facing and the strategies and policies that underlie various forms of organizations.

Individual DNA is related to the organizations that focuses on individual. Either as individuals or as members of a single person who has an interest, Beliefs, goals and unique dreams. People in their human relations in organizations seeking to develop positive relationships based on intimacy and are greatly appreciated behaviors. DNA-person-oriented organizations help to satisfy these inner and deep needs.

Dominant DNA

Derived from the dominant and recessive genes in the human genome which causes the appearance of internal characteristics of individuals (Such as skin color, eye color, IQ…), Different types of organizational DNA can be dominant or recessive.

Hnald and Silverman (2010) believe that any organization is located in one of these DNAs. However, there are other types of DNA in the organization. (Although) there are different types of DNA in each organization by considering the type of dominant DNA.

Therefore, each type of organizational DNA shows different definitions of the same action and different ways of thinking.

Methodology

This study is a descriptive survey of the field survey. Statistical community in this study involves the experts and administrators of

General Administration of Sport of Fars province and they were 48 people. Due to the

low number of the people in statistical community, the number of samples is equal

with the number of the people. Sampling method was done by census.

From 52 questionnaires distributed, 48 questionnaires were returned.

After collecting the questionnaires, mean and standard deviation of the

index were performed for data analysis. Content validity of the

questionnaire was confirmed by experts and professors and reliability

of the questionnaire was calculated using Cronbach's alpha. The reliability

of the questionnaire was 0.89.

According to table 1, the dominant DNA of General Directorate of Youth

and Sport of Fars province is respectively Field-oriented DNA,

Meaning-oriented DNA, objective DNA and individual DNA. The score

of different types of DNAs is upper than the criterion score (12) in

General Directorate of Youth and Sport of Fars province.

Results and Discussion

The score of organizational DNA of General Directorate of Youth and Sport

of Fars province is respectively: field oriented, meaning oriented, objective

oriented and individualistic. The dominant DNA of General Directorate of

Youth and Sport of Fars province was field oriented (12.69) and other DNAs

are definable and interpretable in a framework.

Therefore, the organization is the relatively open and free enterprise, and is to be

followed by strict rules. It lacks any instructions for how to tell employees exactly what should be done. For this

reason, this office can be operated without strict rules. It seems reasonable because it

is associated with the sports staff and city departments and other public and private

organizations.
