In what year did you join Young Living?In September 1998.

How did you find out about Young Living & who introduced you to Young Living?I went to a women’s networking meeting and met with the woman

who did the presentation. She offered free cassette tapes about

essential oils and I took them home and learnt so much. I loved

the science behind Gary Young’s talk, ‘The Missing Link’ and

thought to myself, “WOW, this feels like THE answer for me!”

What was your occupation before you joined Young Living?Originally, I was a Zoologist and worked for Queensland National

Parks and Wildlife Services.

Ever since I was a child, I’ve had a very deep spiritual connection

with nature. This wasn’t recognized in my Science Degree, and it

caused conflict for me in my profession. This led me on a profound

spiritual quest, so that at age 25 I established my own Healing

Centre where I worked as a professional psychic and healer.

I was always looking for new tools that would support

transformation in my clients and in myself. I joined Young

Living at age 32, and thought it was just another tool. Yet I soon

discovered that these oils are unlike any other oils on our planet.

They hold the true frequency of nature, and are the ‘master key’

I’ve been searching for all my life.

How has your life changed since you joined Young Living?I’ve had so many adventures! I don’t ever schedule holidays into

my calendar because I know that Young Living is taking me to

wonderful places each year - Oman, Canada, France, Croatia,

Hawaii, outback Australia, and so many other exciting places.

The second change is financially! Because of Young Living, I am

so blessed with prosperity beyond my wildest dreams. The third

change is the life-long friendships I’ve formed within this amazing

heart-based Young Living community.

What is your favourite Young Living product? Why? What are the benefits to you?In my second-ever order that I placed with Young Living in

October 1998, I added the Abundance™ and Awaken™ essential

oils. I chose Abundance™ because I needed more abundance in

my life. I picked Awaken™ because the description said it’s not

enough to just manifest abundance - we need to also receive it.

So I wore a drop of Abundance oil on my wrists that day, and to

my amazement, three things happened. Firstly, a cheque arrived

in the post that paid a debt in full that I had completely written off.

Secondly, I had an extra booking for a course I was running which

brought extra money into my pocket. Then I bought something

I needed and it was on sale! I have seen Abundance work

synchronistically with financial miracles on so many occasions, I’m

now a complete believer in the power of this oil!

As for Awaken™, it’s a spiritual, master blend of essential oils.

It contains five other blends: Harmony™, Joy™, Forgiveness™,

Present Time™ and Dream Catcher™. I put a drop of Awaken™ on

each side of my pillow and I wake up in a state of bliss.

Were you skeptical about essential oils and the Young Living opportunity before?I believed in essential oils because I had used them before. It was

one of my personal tools for taking care of myself so I already

had a collection of oils. Regarding the business opportunity,

yes, I was skeptical. I had previously been involved with three

other network marketing opportunities and they all backfired.

The companies went under and I felt upset for my friends and

family who lost money. I didn’t start Young Living as a business

opportunity. To be honest, I was really upset to find out that it

was a network marketing company because I’d had such bad

experiences.

What changed your mind?One day I was with one of my clients and she spoke about

something personal and very emotional that had occurred to

her. This client felt so connected with her grief that I offered her

a drop of Joy™ essential oil.

Within 10 minutes, she felt so different and asked for more

information on the oils so I gave her the cassette that I had

first listened to. She listened to it as she was driving home and

once she arrived, called me and said that she wanted to be a

distributor. I had one of those ‘Oh, wow!” moments and reached

out to the lady that introduced me to Young Living and asked for

her help. As some of my close friends heard the excitement in

my voice, they also wanted to order. I often say that Young Living

as a business was the best decision I never made! Once I had

friends and clients using the oils, I wanted to take care of them so

I began running classes and including oils stories in my monthly

clinic newsletters.

At what point did you decide to leave your occupation and focus on Young Living full time?I closed down my private practice in March 2007, six and a half

years after I joined Young Living. Young Living had grown so

much that I was no longer able to maintain both businesses, so

I had to choose between the businesses. It was a tough time for

me because I had to tighten the belt financially. My choice paid

off, and over a period of 13 months I went from Silver to Gold to

Platinum. I am so grateful for what I have and it is far beyond what

I could have achieved in any other job.

Why would you recommend others join Young Living?You can piggyback Young Living off your passions so it always

feels like you are doing something you love.

It’s an amazing personal development journey having your own

business; because you can choose the areas you can blossom in.

It is so wonderful being your own boss and having flexible hours. I

volunteer as a wildlife rescuer, and love that I can drop everything

and attend to a wildlife call.

I also love that Young Living gives me an the opportunity to

change people’s lives and to make a difference to our planet and

by doing this, we can also be blessed with wealth and financial

freedom ourselves.

What do you think is the most incorrect myth you have heard about Young Living?Ha! I’ve heard other companies who’ve said that their oils are

cheaper and better than Young Living’s and that Young Living

doesn’t have their own farms.

What would your response be to correct this myth if you heard it yourself?Our farms definitely exist! I’ve worked on virtually all the Young

Living farms and partner farms, and have had the joy of planting

trees and starters as well as hand-weeding and bathing in Palo

Santo floral water, and breathing in the beautiful aroma of

Lavender and Melissa and all the other plants that were being

harvested. I had the absolute pleasure of getting to know Mary

and Gary Young on many of these visits, and experiencing first-

hand the care, craftsmanship and passion that goes into every

plant, to determine the precise conditions that that plant needs

to gift us with its beautiful, pure essential oil. Gary is a legend

in the essential oil industry and I am honoured to be part of his

company.
