What Do YOU See? A national interpretive exhibit for

4-H members

We each have our own

thoughts, feelings and ideas that allow us to

see things in a different way. This exhibition

challenges 4-H members to express

themselves creatively by answering the

question: “What Do YOU See?” This challenge

can be interpreted in a variety of mediums

such as jewelry design, art, wood working,

pottery, gardening, photography, dance, music

and other forms selected by members.

Exhibits should compel the observer to feel,

think or be inspired by the 4-H members’

interpretation and expression in their

chosen medium.

For more information or to submit your

exhibit, contact Megan!

Entries due July 4 via email.

Pancake Supper

Sunday, April 17, 2015 from 4-7pm What is the Pancake Supper? The biggest fundraiser for 4-H Council. During the Pancake Supper 4-H members and leaders prepare and serve pancakes, ham, eggs and more to members of the community (over 1,000 friends and neighbors!) Who does the money benefit? Money raised benefits 4-H members and leaders. 4-H Council provides financial support to leader trainings, 4-H Camp, Cloverbud Camp, State Shoot, State Fair Showmanship trips, judging teams, awards, workshops, clinics, national trips and so much more! Instead of charging a county 4-H fee, we ask that our 4-H members participate in the fundraiser: both in selling tickets and working a shift at the meal. What can families do? 4-H families can support this endeavor by selling tickets to the Pancake Supper. Tickets will be available from your Community Club Leader after the February 16 Council meeting. Extra tickets are available at the Extension Office. Tickets are due to the Extension Office in April 11 so that appropriate quantities of supplies can be ordered. Clubs that return all their tickets by the April deadline win a pizza party! Families that sell the most tickets also receive a prize.

REMINDERS: Clubs are invited to promote their Club on their

tables throughout the Supper. While there are a variety of creative ideas, remember you must wash the table after guests leave.

Please sign in at the “check-in” table that day. When you sign in, please have clean nails. Hair ties will be available for those with long hair needing tied back.

If you are UNABLE TO WORK A SHIFT AT THE PANCAKE SUPPER, please complete an Excused Form (available at the Extension Of-fice and on our county 4-H website) and return it to the Extension Office prior to the Pancake Supper. You will be asked to do a “make-up” service.

What Do You See? 4-H Flash Fiction Writing Exhibition

Calling all Wyoming 4-H Members! Participate in a state and national writing exhibition!

Flash Fiction is a national 4-H creative writing exhibition

that challenges members to write a piece of original fiction in 1,000 words or less. Entries should con-vey youth’s self expression through a written medium by

answering the question “What Do You See?” For more information or to submit your exhibit,

contact Megan. Entries due July 4 via email.

4-H members planning to exhibit market animals at the Goshen County Fair are REQUIRED to complete Quality Assurance (QA).

Quality Assurance is a pledge or a promise that the food from our livestock will be the highest possible quality and youth producers will do everything possible to make products safe to eat.

Youth who have previously completed any Quality Assurance Levels are on record at the Extension Office and will only be required to be certified at the next appropriate Level.

Youth who have completed Pork Quality Assurance, Beef Quality Assurance or any other species specific Quality Assurance programs can bring in the appropriate documentation, usually a card, and be exempt, provided they

renew their certification. Youth in the Senior age division (14-18) must complete three levels in order to exhibit at the Goshen County Fair. Youth in the Intermediate age division (11-13) must complete two levels in order to exhibit at the Goshen County

Fair. Youth in the Junior age division must complete the first level in order to exhibit at the Goshen County Fair.

If you have questions, please contact your 4-H Club Leader or the Extension Office. Upcoming Quality Assurance Dates:

Level 1: Monday, March 21 at 6 pm Level 2: Tuesday, March 22 at 6 pm

Level 3: Wednesday, March 23 at 6 pm

Last Chance Quality Assurance will be held on Friday, June 3.

QA must be completed by June 15 and appropriate records must be submitted to the Extension Office at this time.
