BOARD-A-MATCH TEAMS

This is a method of playing multiple team matches in which each team

plays against a variety of opponents in a Mitchell-like movement and each deal

has a top of exactly one match point. The only possible scores are: 0, 1/2

and 1.

The movement is arranged so that if the North-South pair of Team 1

plays a board against the East-West pair of Team 3, Team 1 ’ s East – West

pair will play the same board against Team 3 ’ s North-South pair.

More Newsworthy Items HELP WANTED

The Unit is looking for an individual who will eventually take over the

job of Tournament Coordinator. As many of you may know the health of

Paul Moore, who is currently in his 9th year in this position, has been failing

over the last several months. Paul can still perform most of the duties of this

position but would like to find someone who is willing to learn the ins and outs

of the position from him.

We are seeking an individual who:

1. Is even tempered and able to deal with any complaints that

might arise.

2. Preferably has some experience in dealing with hotel sales

departments (knowledge of food service and how to control food

costs would be helpful).

3. Is willing to make a long term commitment (it may take several

years to become known in Tucson hotel circles).

Being computer friendly and having internet access is MANDATORY,

because almost all dealings with the A.C.B.L. are electronic.

If you are interested, please e-mail your qualifications and a brief

statement as to why you think you would be good in this position to

Paul at [email protected].
