The CTTC Journalism Club This new club allows students to pitch ideas, interview people and write news stories and features aboutourschool.Students from all year groups are welcome to attend the club, which is run by Mrs Hammond-White in A3 after school on a Wednesday.Hereisthefirstarticletheywrote about the Student Leadership Team here at CTTC.Greatworkeveryone!

STUDENTS at Chase Terrace Technology College have the chance to get their voices heard – thanks to the new student leadership team. This group of students, ranging from years eight to 11, has been put together to represent the student body as a whole, taking forward ideas and suggestions to share with the staff who run the school. Headed up by head boy and girl, George Civil and Millie Jarrett, the group contains two students from each year group, who are there to champion your views and ideas about what should happen at CTTC with the school’s leadership team. Millie said: “It’s such a great thing to be part of and I love being involved. Having the student leadership team is a brilliant way for pupils to share their ideas about the school.”

George added: “I would encourage all students to get involved and have their say about the important issues at CTTC.” The team, supported by Mrs Baird, have already been busy with a number of projects, including seeking views on changes to the school uniform. You should all have seen the survey on Show My Homework. Mrs Baird said: “Our student leadership team has had a great response so far, and I hope both the team and the projects they get involved with will continue to grow. I’m really excited by the work they have done so far and hope we can do even more as the year goes on.” The team are always on the lookout for new ideas and will soon be on the hunt for new members to represent year seven. Anyone who wants to know more or to get involved should head along to see the team in the den (at the back of the library) every Thursday break time.
