VIRAVER

The influence of glass as a structural and design element is becoming increasingly important.Viraver combines designing worksites and designers to ensure that glass is the main interpreter of a yacht's design language.

To create large curved surfaces, Viraver has fitted high-performance gravity glass bending systems. This technology allows us to create extreme curvatures while maintaining excellent quality and transparency in 21,32 ft x 10,17 ft (6,50 m x 3,10 m).

Research and development are at the base of the philosophy of continuous improve-ment desired by Viraver, for this reason today is the company that produces the most important dimension of chemically strengthened glass in the world 26,24 ft x 10,53 ft (8 m x 3,21 m), and proposes new solutions to reduce the thicknesses with tests required by international registers. All this thanks to the technical chain, analysis, production and verification of the product, fully integrated and managed in the Viraver plants, able to ensure total quality control.

Company CertificationViraver believes that a logical consequence of maintaining quality is certification of its own management, which is why the company is certified with ISO 9001:2015. Viraver meets all the requirements of a quality management system in being able to consistently provide products and services that meet customer needs and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

Being a certified company today means responding to precise and careful assessments, but above all creating production and quality management phases that meet and exceed the client’s expectations.

Glazing for Naval shipsViraver’s “tailor-made” concept also includes direct management of the relationship with Naval authorities, such as RINA, Bureau Veritas and Lloyds, for the approval and certification of glass fitted to ships.

Viraver’s know-how allows the company to manage the technical and structural tests necessary to obtain the certification of the products by the relevant authorities, and this is done within its walls and with its own equipment. Viraver has carried out more than 150 hydrostatic tests in order to certify composites of reduced thickness.

Applied Technology

Viraver is the only licensing company in Italy for Kureray’s SentryGlas® Expression ™ technology. Through this technology high resolution digital print is applied, using specific inks and PVBs, any photographic image, logo, geometric design or material reproduction inside laminated flat and curved security glass.

SentryGlas® Expression™Viraver has qualified a particular product with a specific non-slip function. It is a laminated glass on which on its surface has been deposited a non-removable paint that significantly increases the roughness of the glass. It is possible to deposit the paint on the entire surface or to respect a specific design, such as a logo or dotted grid, to maintain the transparency of the element.

ANTISKID GLASS

Privacy and protection are provided by windows that allow screening of electromagnetic emissions. Using the principle of the Faraday Cage and guaranteeing a good compromise between the visibility and the shielding value required, laminated glass is produced with shielding features that can be produces in different thicknesses, with hardened glass and not and with varying interlayers.Generally, the production technique used involves inserting, inside the plastic cross-section, of conductive elements which while maintaining the transparency requirements, ensure shielding efficiency.

ELECTROMAGNETIC SHIELDING GLASSFor indoor privacy management where traditional curtains are not used, windows are available that can be rendered opaque by means of a simple electrical command. This effect is obtained by interposing a specific encapsulated film containing liquid crystals. When the film is active, the glass plate is rendered transparent, when turned off, the plate assumes a translucent-opaque appearance. The Viraver Shady Glass maintains the laminated glass safety features and complies with the CE marking regulations.

SHADY GLASS GLASS WITH VARIABLE TRANSPARENCY

Viraver has developed the application of a particular nanotechnology-based ink, which once printed and illuminated with a specific light frequency emits four-colour process light, but being perfectly transparent when not beamed. M Glass can be used in indoor and outdoor environments on flat and curved glass, while maintaining the safety features of laminated glass under all conditions of use.M Glass is a product compliant with CE marking regulations.

M GLASSIn order to optimize the optical-luminous performance of the glass, in addition to providing a wide range of coatings available on the market, which can be adapted to complex shapes, Viraver uses shielding solutions through the use of special interlayers or selective films incorporated within the plastic interlayer. There are several technologies and materials that Viraveruses, depending on the conditions of use, of the requirements of Customer’s binding laws and specification.

POLARZING GLASS AND HEAT CONTROL GLASS

Viraver produces flat and curved glass with de-fogging or de-icing heating systems to ensure maximum visibility in all environmental conditions. The heating effect can be obtained by using two different technologies; by inserting micro-wire heating elements or coating heating elements.According to customer requirements, Viraver offers a wide range of design solutions to fully integrate the element according to the power supply, unitary heating power, electrical use as per component.

MICRO-WIRE HEATING INSERTION GLASSThe fire resistance feature is increasingly demanded in many sectors and especially in the yacht sector; this property is determined by applying the Fire Test Procedure Code issued by the IMO.Viraflame revolutionizes the concept of fire resistant windows, combining perfectly safety and design requirements, offering superior quality to traditional products on the market, even in terms of thickness reduction and transparency. The Viraflame firefighter system does not include intumescent gel but exploits design innovation related to the frame, the type of fixing, and the sequence of installed materials. The classification obtained in accordance with the FTP tests is A0 (extensible A30 with dedicated sprinklers) and with maximum dimensions of the parental element of 2240 mm X 2950 mm (free light 2214 mm X 2914 mm). This system also complies with the requirements of the Passenger Yacht Code - CISR.

VIRAFLAME

Viraver offers a full range of bulletproof and anti-burglary solutions, certified according to different levels of protection.ViraShield BR (bulletproof glass) is a laminated glass composed of glass and polycarbonate sheets, joined together by the use of specific interlayers; all Virashield BR compositions are anti splinter.During development, Viraver’s ViraShield BR (anti-bulletproof) and anti-burglary (Viralam) products can be adapted to the customer’s architectural and design needs through the use of heating systems and / or opaque films. The objective is to make the armoured model indistinguishable, both for aesthetics and for optical quality, even through the remarkable reduction in thickness.Viraver has many compositions classified according to international standards EN 1063 (civilian) and STANAG 4569 (military).

BOLLET-PROOF GLASS AND ANTI-BURGLARY GLASS

The chemical strengthening process of glass is used to improve the physical characteristics of glass, increasing its resistance to mechanical stresses and to thermal shocks. The chemical strengthening process by its nature does not involve any kind of optical distortion and imprint on the treated glass. Viraver prides itself on being the only company to be able to produce chemically-strengthening glass sheets as large as 26,24 ft x 10,53 ft (8 m x 3,21 m).

CHEMICAL STRENGTHENED GLASS

Viraver has an ISO 9001: 2015 certified quality management system.Viraver monitors all business processes in order to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and quality of its processes, products and services.Viraver systematically controls its products before delivery with the aim to verify the customer’s standards, and in particular optical, foreign and sizes of products. The controls on the finished product are made by qualified experts.

FINAL TESTING

Silkscreen printing is a glass or polycarbonate printing technique which serves both aesthetic and practical purposes. At Viraver, we use two printing technologies:CLASSICAL SILKSCREEN PRINTING • Which involves printing by means of silkscreen frames and inks on compact and shaded, black and coloured strips, which protect the glues used to install the glass, while at the same time creating an attractive aesthetic effect in the combinations of glass and structure.PRINTING ON PVC • Viraver is a Kuraray licensee for SentryGlass® Expression™, a type of technology which enables high definition coloured images to be printed continuously on both transparent and opaque interlayers.

SILKSCREEN PRINTING

Laminated glass is one of the most used products in projects where glass is a structural part because it combines transparency with the robustness and security features required by standards and norms. In Viraver lamination is executed for each piece of glass by bag technique and autoclave cycle.Depending on the design requirements, the glass can be laminated with any type of interlayer, PVB, structural PVB, ionomer, polyurethane, EVA etc. up to the SentryGlas® Expression ™, which is used under the exclusive Kuraray license. The stratification techniques used in Viraver allows innumerable materials to be added to the plastic interlayer that further enhance the purpose to the glass, for example: heating elements, heat shields, electromagnetic radiation shields, electric and decorative opacifier films.

ASSEMBLY CABIN LAMINATED HIGH-STRENGTH GLASS

This is the process in which the union between the glass and the plastic material that make up the stratified takes place. In Viraver lamination is carried out lamination in an autoclave, which consists in subjecting the laminate to the simultaneous action of pressure, temperature and vacuum in order to generate the intimate union of the different materials.Viraver is equipped with a new large autoclave for glass and polycarbonate sheets equal to 29,53 ft x 10,83 ft ( 9m x 3,30 m).

AUTOCLAVE LAMINATION

Viraver designs, develops and manufactures flat or curved monolithic glasses, laminated for security glass and with special applications and solutions tailored to the: nautical, automotive, architecture, industrial and armored sectors. For each sector and circumstance, Viraver contextualizes its product with particular attention to regulations, norms and individual specifications.Viraver has pushed itself into avant-garde designs and applications, with particular attention to resistance, strength, quality and weight reduction of the product with the same mechanical performance. This is to comply with the requests and design trends towards applications with ever larger sizes and surfaces and consequently smaller thicknesses, with a consequent weight reduction, but guaranteeing the same resistance and structural quality.

Viraver uses the sag bending technique to create large curved surfaces. With this technology, even very thick sheets of glass can be bent, to form cylindrical and spherical curves, while retaining excellent optical properties and creating surfaces free of distortion and undulation. The experience acquired in obtaining curvature, and using the 3D processing technique of the surfaces detected, allows our team to guarantee the continuity of the surfaces even in the most complex projects. Viraver’s larger new furnaces are able to bend glass sheets as large as 21,32 ft x 10,17 ft (6,50 m x 3,10 m).
