Why this meet up?
• Nice to meet our supporters face-to-face • We want to tell you more about what we are doing• How we want our supporters to get involved• Share some of our to do list out• Listen to your ideas• Input on future meetups
• Agenda:– A short presentation
– Chat; beer; peanuts
Our charity from the beginning
Targeted
• We will build a home for babies in Uganda by the end of 2010
– We need to raise the money
– We need to find short term solutions
– We need to build the home
– We need to be sustainable in the long term
Roadmap (5 phases)
• A phased and incremental project plan reduces the risks and proves the model works
– Building strong foundations for a robust, sustainable structure we can grow and expand
• Phase one– Rented accommodation for 20 babies, set up social work department
• Phase Two– Situational analysis, purchase land with an existing building for HQ and
build a Home and administration block.
• Phase Three– Open Home for up to 50 babies, expand social work department and
volunteer scheme.
• Phase Four– Expand Home to up to 80 babies, Build a nursery and specialised
medical facilities to care for premature and sick babies
• Phase Five– Tackle the root cause of abandonment and provide support to parents
who have no choice but to abandon their children

• Campaign 1: Buy a Brick– An interactive virtual wall– Donors will be helping to build the babies home brick by brick– They decide how much they want to pay– Everyone's donation however large or small is crucial to our success– The wall scrolls so you can paginate through and read messages– The wall will be on childsifoundation.org but will be portable and shareable in your
own digital space
