ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT POLICY OF IPT

Lounched on 13th April 2010

Purpose

• Encourage and strengthen the entrepreneurship development of IPT which is more systematic and holistic.

Main Goals•To produce modal insan that have more quality and sense, attributes and have entrepreneurship value; and•To produce more graduate entrepreneurs who will act as catalyst for economic transformation that will develop into high-income economies and based on innovation towards achieving developed nation status by 2020.

Core 1: Establish entrepreneurship

• Reach the standard of responsibility centre

• Planning, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating entrepreneurship development program of IPT

Core 2: Providing education and

entrepreneurship program which is systematic and holistic

• IPT need to have systematic planning and clear goals by the aspects of education implementation and their entrepreneurship programs.

• The entrepreneurship element need to be embedded explicitly over curriculum.

• To produce university graduate student who really involve in the field of entrepreneurship/business.

Guiding Principles in Formulating Entrepreneuship Education

• Entrepreneurship can be taught/learned at an early age• It must be taught in an enterprising way using student centered

methods• It must contain both knowledge and experiential

elements• It should be delivered in a cross-curricular manner, not

only as a stand alone course (all students should beexposed) – appropriate to grade levels

• Teachers should be heavily involved in design anddevelopment of the curriculum and resource materials

• • There should be interaction with the businesscommunity

• Students should rewarded for their achievements

Key Success Elements

• Presence of a lead organizing body • Presence of champions in various parts of the system• Baseline research – “stock-taking”• Budget commitment• Commitment from the “top” to do it• Integration of entrepreneurship-related outcomes in

(national/regional) curriculum guidelines• Integrated approach; lots of partnerships• Interaction between education system and the community
