She also thanked all the volunteers who have assisted with chores and Québec En Forme, sponsor of the inauguration. Mr. Scott Pearce, Mayor of the Township of Gore, proceeded to cut the symbolic ribbon at the entrance of the trail to the sound of bagpipes played by Dominic Lavallée. The event ended in good spirits with a closing cocktail where participants contributed to a collective land art piece made from natural materials collected during the hike. This special event organized by Monic Robillard, will take on a permanent dimension thanks to Monique Laramée, local artist, who will reuse the materials to give a final shape to this piece. In the meantime, feel free to take a hike on the Family Trails, its entrance is behind the skating rink at the municipal park. By Anna McGarrigle & Jane McGarrigle Publisher: Random House Canada

The first book and definitive family memoirfrom Anna and Jane McGarrigle, sisters toKate McGarrigle and aunts of Rufus andMartha Wainwright. This book is truly aclassic in the making. A vivid snapshot of coming-of-agein the 1950s, the book recounts the sisters'

school days and rebellious teenage antics, and their beginnings as musicians. It takes usthrough the vibrant folk music circuit of the1960s in Montreal and New York City, andthe burgeoning social movements of SanFrancisco, and ultimately leads to theformation of the folk music duo Kate andAnna McGarrigle, revealing the genesisbehind some of their beloved songs andfollowing their early days recording andperforming. The book also reads as a tributeto Kate, who passed away in 2010, withinsights into her character and creativedevelopment. Inspiringly, it speaks to theimportant (sometimes lifesaving) role ofsisters, and is a deeply moving testament tothe profound importance of family.Charming and witty, interspersed with lyricsand photos, this book captures the
