He loves us without limit, and offers Himself to us in the Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist.

Can we not give Jesus a few minutes of love and adoration in return?

On the third Tuesday of each month, our Council participates in the Eucharistic Adoration at the Church Chapel. We are assigned the 5:30 to 6:00 pm time period. The Council’s next Eucharistic Adoration will be on Tuesday, November 17th.

Peace to you and your family.

exciting competition. You’d be amazed at how good our Incarnation students perform.

Nov. 11th is Veteran’s Day with a Ceremony Mass at the National Cemetery in Sarasota. The Mass will be celebrated by our Bishop Frank and all are invited. The Knights from the area coordinate this entire event. It’s a great way to honor and thank our veterans for their sacrifices so that we can live in peace in this great country of ours. God bless America and thanks to all our veterans!

Our successful ‘Keep Christ In Christmas’ campaign will be the weekend of Nov. 21 and 22 and we can use some help after the Masses that weekend so please sign up at the meeting Nov. 7th.

Brother Joe will be organizing our next Pancake Breakfast on Nov. 22nd and can always use some help.

We started a new program for Advent in the Parish. We call it “Make your Own Advent Wreath“. The Knights provide all the material which consists of the four candles, wreath, Christmas bows and balls, and a Advent prayer, plus a free Car Magnet for each one purchased.

The cost is $10. And the Council will make about $4.00 per wreath. Since this is our first attempt we have limited sales to 40 wreaths and I am happy to report that we have orders for 26 already without any advertising. If any Brothers would like to purchase a kit please call me at 921-6631 asap. This is a fun event for you or your grandchildren. Thanks to Brother Joe for making up the first wreath that was on display at the Masses last weekend. I thought this was a good way to get this practice in our homes and folks can have some fun while putting it together.

Our next meeting is on Nov. 7th and I invite you to try and attend. Our meetings have been streamlined and very worthwhile. If you haven’t attend in a while come by and check us out. We do miss you.

I’d like to welcome our new Knights Tom and Steve who made their First Degree last month. Brothers, we offer a lot to our parish, school and community and we can use your help along with some new faces. If you know of someone who would make a good Knight invite them to join. Maybe all it takes is an invitation.

Please remember to bring canned food or dried goods to our next meeting, it’s your ticket to a free sandwich and drink, plus, we help feed those in need through our parish St. Vincent de Paul Society. We have been doing a good job and have collected over 200 lbs of food so far. Thank you.

In closing I’d like to wish all my fellow Brother Knights and their families a very Happy Thanksgiving. May God continue to bless you and shower you with His gifts of peace and love. We are a bunch of men who give of their time and talents freely to help the Church and to help others. Take the time this Thanksgiving Day to just relax and enjoy family and friends.

Our Council is more than an organization, we are a family and as your Grand Knight I am thankful for the opportunity to be apart of this family. Many Blessings to all. Vivat Jesus!

The Pitfalls of Replacing Coverage

You know the old saying, “the grass seems greener on the other side of the fence,” but we all know that it rarely is. The same holds true when it comes to replacing your existing Knights of Columbus life insurance with coverage offered by another company. Perceptions are deceiving. A move to the “greener” grass on the other side of the fence might seem like a good one, but it can leave you with less green in your wallet — in some cases, a lot less. That’s why it pays to remember another old adage, “Read the fine print.”

17th. Thanks to the Conferring Officer Bob Marrah and his Lenny Anzalone Knighthood Team and Our Lady of Victory Council #3358 for delivering an outstanding Exemplification.

CONGRATULATIONS to all the District Councils that conducted an “Annual Baby Bottle Campaign” during Respect Life Month in October to help support the operation and maintenance of the ultrasound machine at the Sarasota Medical Pregnancy Center. Three years ago, area KofC Councils helped purchase the ultrasound machine. Executive Director Jennifer Carey greatly appreciates all the financial support that the local KofC Councils provide the pregnancy center.

CONGRATULATIONS to all District #52 Councils. In the first four months of the fraternal year, District #52 has achieved 63% of its membership goal and 38% of its insurance. Keep up the great work Councils!

The Veterans Day Mass will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11th at the Sarasota National Cemetery on Clark Road – five miles east of I-75. The Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Frank Dewane to honor the men and women who have served our country and are serving us today. Let’s have a great turnout of Brother Knights from District #52!

Just a reminder that a First Degree

There are many reasons to keep your existing coverage in force, whether that coverage is with the Knights of Columbus or with another company. I’ll focus on the potential pitfalls of replacing coverage here — pitfalls that an agent trying to convince you that the grass actually is greener might neglect to mention.

First, all life insurance contracts contain a contestability period, which allows the insurer to contest claims made for a period — typically two years — after the contract is issued. Chances are this is no longer an issue with your current coverage.

Second, it’s unlikely that you can obtain the same amount of coverage, for the same premium, that you were able to obtain with your existing contract. The two factors that determine how much you’ll need to pay for life insurance coverage are age and health. Certainly, you’re older now than you were when you took out your current coverage. There’s no way around that. And you have to ask yourself, has your health changed during that time? Is your blood pressure the same? Your cholesterol? Have you gained weight? All these factors can affect the amount of coverage you’ll get for your premium dollar.

can only be done with your help.

During the past few weeks, you received, or will receive, a letter from the Florida KofC Charities/Helping Life Fund asking you to give of your time and treasure in support of this most worthy cause. It asked that you donate $15.00 to this fund. Please open your hearts and wallets and make a contribution. Every dollar you send will go to saving and protecting Life. Thank you and God Bless.

PANCAKE BREAKFASTS GETOFF TO A GREAT START

The Incarnation Council Monthly Pancake Breakfast has gotten off to a great start.

For each pancake breakfast, the Council has designated the net profits for a specific Church, School, Ministry need or a Council charity. Last months recipient was American Heritage Girls.

After the 7:00 a.m. Mass on October 25th, Grand Knight Deacon John

If someone encourages you to replace — or worse, drop — your existing coverage, please call me. I’ll show you how your existing coverage is working for you and why replacement is rarely in your best interest.

HELP SUPPORT HUMAN LIFE

Human Life is precious in God’s Eyes and as such was made in His likeness. Since 1991, the Knights of Columbus (KofC), through the Florida KofC Helping Life Fund, have taken on the task to support “All Life,” following the Catholic Church’s teaching “from conception to natural death.” The Helping Life Fund abides by God’s wishes and protects that which is most precious to him – “Life.” This charity supports the most innocent of life, in protecting the unborn through crisis pregnancy centers, and the protection of battered and abused women, children and senior citizens. We will sit in assigned pews.

After Mass, we motor over to the Café Baci Restaurant (4001 S. Tamiami Trail) for our “Annual Christmas Dinner Party.” Chair Phil Riordan has planned a wonderful evening for us. INCARNATION COUNCIL RECEIVES HIGHEST SUPREME RECOGNITON

For the fourth consecutive year, Incarnation Council #15332 was the recipient of a Star Council or Double Star Council Award. For the 2014-2015 Fraternal Year, the Council received the Star Council Award – the most prestigious award that a Council can achieve. Incarnation Council was one of 110 of 385 Councils within Florida and one of 2,163 out of over 16,000 Councils worldwide to receive Supremes’ Star Council Award during the 2014-2015 Fraternal Year.

With a great set of Council Officers, active Council Brothers and a well thought out Service Program Plan, the Council established the goal to achieve the Star Council Award during the 2014-2015 Fraternal Year. To do so, the Council had to (1) achieve a net gain of five new Members; (2) achieve a net gain of three new Insurance Members; and
