• The Indian incense industry, supplies up to 60% of the world incense market.

• Assam, Tripura and Eastern India presently supply incense sticks to the rest of the country. Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh also have plenty of bamboo so ideally these areas could also be prospective centers of agarbatti production.

• The "industrialization" of the incense production process since 1990, have resulted in a legion of commercial Incense brands that are made in India and now even in China.
