Rights of the Learner

We believe that all learners construct their knowledge

through interactions with physical and social environments. Therefore,

as a learner, you have the right to explore the environment. You have the right

to formulate and test hypotheses, invent strategies, seek multiple plausible solutions,

pose new questions, and revise your beliefs. In recognition of your rights as a learner, we

approach learning through rigorous, inquiry-based reflection. This involves drawing on the

experiences that you bring and those that we create together. We value uncertainty in the

learning process and see it as a time of infinite possibilities. We believe that learning

is authentic when it is learner-centered and results in changes in your daily

practices. Learning is enduring when our feelings, knowledge, and

actions are in synchrony. The educational process is successful

when it inspires the learner to be a life-long investigator.

Qual i ty MattersTM Rubric Standards 2011-2013 edit ion with Assigned Point Values. This is a proprietary rubric and is an integral part of Maryland Online Inc.’s online course quality assurance program. The rubric includes a set of8general standards and 41 specific standards to evaluate online and blended courses. https://www.qualitymatters.org/rubric.

CONNECT: The Center to Mobilize Early Childhood Knowledge is a partnership between Frank Porter Graham (FPG) Early Childhood Development Institute and the University of Kentucky.
