Create learner profiles to:
•inform classroom planning•share with learning team, including parents.
![Page 24: Inclusive Education Planning Tool Information for Jurisdictional Contacts August 25, 2011](https://reader030.vdocument.in/reader030/viewer/2022032612/56649eda5503460f94be8a84/html5/thumbnails/24.jpg)
![Page 25: Inclusive Education Planning Tool Information for Jurisdictional Contacts August 25, 2011](https://reader030.vdocument.in/reader030/viewer/2022032612/56649eda5503460f94be8a84/html5/thumbnails/25.jpg)
Planning for all students
![Page 26: Inclusive Education Planning Tool Information for Jurisdictional Contacts August 25, 2011](https://reader030.vdocument.in/reader030/viewer/2022032612/56649eda5503460f94be8a84/html5/thumbnails/26.jpg)
At a minimum, teachers will complete a learner profile for all Grade 1 to 9 students who are:
• working below grade level• in need of additional support, and/or• are identified with special education needs.
![Page 27: Inclusive Education Planning Tool Information for Jurisdictional Contacts August 25, 2011](https://reader030.vdocument.in/reader030/viewer/2022032612/56649eda5503460f94be8a84/html5/thumbnails/27.jpg)
The learning profile should be completed by the classroom teacher who is most responsible for that student’s instruction.
![Page 28: Inclusive Education Planning Tool Information for Jurisdictional Contacts August 25, 2011](https://reader030.vdocument.in/reader030/viewer/2022032612/56649eda5503460f94be8a84/html5/thumbnails/28.jpg)
What about IPPs?
![Page 29: Inclusive Education Planning Tool Information for Jurisdictional Contacts August 25, 2011](https://reader030.vdocument.in/reader030/viewer/2022032612/56649eda5503460f94be8a84/html5/thumbnails/29.jpg)
Schools participating in the pilot will not create IPPs for students in this school year.
Kindergarten children identified as having special education needs will require IPPs
![Page 30: Inclusive Education Planning Tool Information for Jurisdictional Contacts August 25, 2011](https://reader030.vdocument.in/reader030/viewer/2022032612/56649eda5503460f94be8a84/html5/thumbnails/30.jpg)
The Standards for Special Education remain in effect – all schools not participating in this pilot will complete IPPs for 2011 – 2012.
![Page 31: Inclusive Education Planning Tool Information for Jurisdictional Contacts August 25, 2011](https://reader030.vdocument.in/reader030/viewer/2022032612/56649eda5503460f94be8a84/html5/thumbnails/31.jpg)
Will this change how parents participate in their child’s learning?
![Page 32: Inclusive Education Planning Tool Information for Jurisdictional Contacts August 25, 2011](https://reader030.vdocument.in/reader030/viewer/2022032612/56649eda5503460f94be8a84/html5/thumbnails/32.jpg)
The Inclusive Education Planning Tool is a teacher resource, so only teachers will have access.
Teachers can generate reports of learner profiles to share with parents
![Page 33: Inclusive Education Planning Tool Information for Jurisdictional Contacts August 25, 2011](https://reader030.vdocument.in/reader030/viewer/2022032612/56649eda5503460f94be8a84/html5/thumbnails/33.jpg)
Parent perspectives are important for understanding students’ strengths and needs
There will be opportunities for parents to contribute to profiles
Profiles can be shared and revised at reporting periods (or any other time)
![Page 34: Inclusive Education Planning Tool Information for Jurisdictional Contacts August 25, 2011](https://reader030.vdocument.in/reader030/viewer/2022032612/56649eda5503460f94be8a84/html5/thumbnails/34.jpg)
