Provide for vehicle queuing and inspection of vehicles. 5 ACCESS LANE TO PASSENGER TERMINAL - Improve access from the roundabout to the Ferry Passenger Terminal for emergency and service vehicles, and public transport by providing an inbound lane that is separate to the Vehicle Ferry Boarding Lanes (ID4). 5A INTERNAL CIRCULATION LANES - Improve access and circulation within the Ferry Terminal and Car Parking area. 6 FERRY TERMINAL EXIT LANES - Improve egress from Ferry to roundabout for all vehicles, including cyclists. 7 DIRECTIONAL SIGNAGE - Improve directional signage that directs drivers into either the ferry boarding lanes or car park and passenger terminal. 8 SECURITY FENCING (EXISTING) - Provide for security fencing, gates and other measures in accordance with security legislation. 9 PASSENGER TERMINAL BUILDING - To meet the needs of ferry passengers. - Potential to replace existing passenger terminal building with a modern and functional building, that provides views over Port Phillip Bay and which marks it as a gateway to the Bellarine Peninsula and Queenscliff. - Passenger Terminal to be a maximum height of 8.5 metres above the ground level, inclusive of any changes to the ground level required to accommodate the projected sea level rise for 2060 (0.4 metres). - As part of the Borough of Queenscliffe network of foreshore paths, a

pedestrian path will be provided from Queenscliff Harbour to the Ferry

Passenger Terminal and beach (subject to the consent of the Public

Land Manager, i.e. Parks Victoria).

11 ENHANCEMENT AND

REVEGETATION OF

FORESHORE

- Contribute to the Borough of Queenscliffe’s and Parks Victoria

enhancement of the foreshore’s natural environment (Parks Victoria /

Borough of Queenscliffe will be responsible for implementing

revegetation).

- Also refer to Native Vegetation Precinct Plan.

12 WHARF AND SHEET

PILE WALL

- Replace wharf and sheet pile. Provide viewing and outdoor resting area

overlooking ‘The Cut’ for passengers waiting to board with their

vehicles.

13 SHELTER - Following consultation with Borough of Queenscliffe, Parks Victoria to

relocate shelter to a new location.

14 CONNECTION POINTS

FORESHORE PATHS

- Provide for connection points to the Borough of Queenscliffe network of

foreshore paths that extend from Queenscliff Ferry Terminal and

Queenscliff Harbour to Fort Queenscliff (Borough of Queenscliffe /

Parks Victoria are responsible for completion of paths).

15 POTENTIAL LOADING

BAY

- To be located adjacent to the passenger terminal building and is only to

be used by delivery vehicles whilst transferring goods.

- Provide rollover kerb for delivery vehicles

- Clearly delineate between the Delivery Bay and Group Assembly Area

16 ADVERTISING

SIGNAGE

To replace existing and provide new advertising signage, including:

- Replace existing signage on the central traffic island leading to the car

park

- Shift the sign on the western facade of the ticket office several metres

forward so to improve visibility of the ‘ticket price sign’ for approaching

vehicles

- Affix a new sign on the southern side of the ticket office

- Paint the QFT logo along the security fence on the eastern edge of the

car park

- Replace the existing sign on the rooftop of the cafe

- Affix a new sign on the northern facade of the cafe

- Replace the existing sign on the western facade of the cafe.

17 WAYFINDING SIGNAGE To replace existing and provide new wayfinding signage. Wayfinding signage

will be provided to guide the movement of people and vehicles to and within

the QFT site. The wayfinding signage includes traffic and pedestrian

directional signage. Wayfinding signage will be located as follows:

- For vehicles, wayfinding signage will be provided along Wharf Street

and within the Queenscliff Ferry Terminal, including signage to

encourage slow vehicle speeds,

- For pedestrians, wayfinding signage will be provided along the

pedestrian path adjacent to Wharf Street. Additional wayfinding signage

will be placed within the Queenscliff Ferry Terminal and Queenscliff

Harbour to encourage pedestrians to use the designated paths and not

the road.

Note: All paths will be developed in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992.
