Emergence of an ancient plant
The hemp plant – a member of the same family of plants. Hemp has been grown for centuries, as early as 5000bc, and used for rope, fabric, food and oil. In 1776 all farmers in the Colony (US) were ordered to grow hemp in order to assist in the war effort.Did you know Henry Ford created a car made of hemp by-products that had a virtually indestructible body and ran on hemp oil?

Emergence of an ancient plant
After the Second World War, when farmers had once again been legislated to produce hemp, the law began to change. Various Acts passed by the US Govt made the possession and use of marijuana difficult and ultimately illegal, till finally in 1970 the Controlled Substances Act was passed, classing marijuana as a Schedule 1 drug.( This category is reserved only for the most dangerous drugs.) Growing hemp, which has no drug effect also became illegal.The US Govt worked closely with the United Nations to develop international drug laws, and as a result the US set the standard for the rest of the world.
