• Bharti Foundation

– Bharti Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Bharti Group Companies.

– The prime objective is to bridge the existing education divide and make quality education accessible to underprivileged children in rural India.

– The Foundation aims to help underprivileged children and young people of our country realize their potential.

• Satya Bharti School Program

– The Satya Bharti School Program is the flagship program of Bharti Foundation.

– It aims to deliver free quality education to underprivileged children, with special focus on the girl child across rural India.

– Present Operational Status:

• Number of Schools Operational: 254

• States of Operation: Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh & Tamil Nadu

• Number of Students Enrolled: Over 38,000

About the Community

• Geographical Location: It is established in village Dand, Amer in dist.- Jaipur Raj

• Cultural Background: Mostly people belong to ST category and does agriculture/ labor work.

• Role of Satya Bharti School in the Village: The of Satya Bharti School is as a Model School of the village, It’s a learning temple.

• Participation in ‘Design for Giving’ School Contest: School participated in Design for Giving for ‘Security of physically challenged people’

We ‘Felt’:

• The living condition of physically challenged people is not so good. generally it came to heard that “ Purane janm main kuch paap kiya hoga tab hi aaj inki ye halat hai.

• They can not do their work easily and can not get help from the other member of family.

• The feeling of being neglected is very dangerous for them and generally they live at the out side of the house and do not participate in the festivals and other occasions at village.

• They do not know what are their rights and what benefit they can get from the Govt.

We ‘Imagined’:

• Satya bharti students decides to give them insurance they are same like other community members and they are also a part of village.

• They celebrate every occasions with them and inviting them at school for giving them regards that they are also the part of community.

• Students went to their home and helping them in their daily life works and talking with them about their rights and the benefit that they can get from govt. schemes.

• Students making understand he other members of community that these people are not a weight on family if the opportunity will provide to them, they also can do many great work like other people.

We ‘Did’: we went door to door to get them overcome from this problem and providing them support by getting them Govt. pension and scholarships.

Impact on Community:

• Community members got more sensitize towards the physically challenged people of village.

• Family members are doing more care and providing more help to the people who are physically and mentally challenged.

• The people who are physically challenged are now feeling motivated and also taking some good initiative of doing study or any other vocational training.

•These people connected with the school and participating in each event of school.

• The embarrassment of being disable now removed and they are taking step to do something.

• When the students are helping the villagers they are also building their knowledge through transmission of right to information.

• The students meet with the village sarpunch and ward members regarding the issues that were discussed in workshops.

• sarpunch and local leaders also appreciated the efforts done by the students and school staff and committed to help the villagers in getting the information that they want.

• New generation is getting forward and advanced to use their rights.

• Viklang log bhi bahut kuch kar sakte hai, Hamare bacchon ne hamain esi kai jankariyan uplabdh karwai hai. Mr. Saduram (Community member)

• Viklangta purane janmo ka paap nahi hoti ye kisi ke saath bhe ho sakta hai. Isliye hamain sabhi ka saman karna chahiye Mr. Babulal meena• Hum is adhikar ke bare main village ke sabhi logon ko batayenge

• Hum rojana students ko Viklango ke adhikaron ke bare main jagruk karenge jisse ye village ke dusre logon ko bhi jagruk kar saken.
